Personally, I think the game needs at least another couple months of work, seeing it in its current state. Theres nothing innovating in it or new whatsoever. Plus, some of the units(of the few that there are, at least that weve seen so far) really dont seem interesting. The basic units, that aren't new(warthogs, ghosts, wraiths, etc.) are fine, of course, but some of the other stuff *cough*vulture*cough* seems flat out retarded, at least to me.

Some of the unit models seem horrible as well, basically all infantry, and the hornet too. The hornets 1 minigun(even though its supposed to, and even says in its description, that it has 2) seems to be 25% of its size!

Anyone else have opinions?

I think that HaloWars looks like your typical run-of-the-mill RTS.

There is nothing new about it. Basically just a new RTS game coming out.

 

I personally liked where they were heading with the '07 E3 demo. I was more into the grungy UNSC base and the dull HUD than this shiny, super-saturated version that looks like...

It's nice to see we finally have a release date. 

I think it is a good time for the game to come out.  Its right after the holidays when people will be tired of playing the stuff that came out before Christmas.  

It is just like any other RTS type game.  But the game footage i have seen it looks like it will be fun to play and i guess a unique game in its own way.  I can't wait to buy it and enjoy the countless hours of play.   The cinimatics alone look kicka@@.

i agree with the other guy, i wont judge it until i play the demo... although, so far its looking good, and i dont get why people are saying its nothing new... the control scheme is the best ive seen on console (although endwar is really good), and i dont think ive ever heard of an RTS based off an FPS

I would find it really funny to buy Halo Wars and think it's not good but to find out when I play it that it is just like the E3 2007 version with updated graphics, and the gameplay vids and pics they have been giving out have been to throw us all off.

Hmm.....I think you're judging that from the E3 stuff,  which was several months ago now. Things have most likely changed since then, and will continue to do so until it goes gold.

The Vulture is fine, it's going to be balanced in the main game, and questions about its appearance are irrelevant. As long as it is a useful unit in my arsenal, I really don't care what it looks like.

I have been retaining my opinion of the game untill the demo is released. Hopefully this is a sign that it will be out in the next couple of months. I'm hoping it will prove all your fears wrong.
