    Forerunner question

ok we know the rings where built to destroy the flood's food NOT THE FLOOD so the forerunners activated the rings killing themselves my question is the reason they kept some alive to study them so why the hell would they keep some alive to study if they would be dead? even if they lived on one of those safe planets or whatever there called wouldnt they expect them to get loose some how? and wouldnt the flood starve without replenshiment i know they where preserved but they would still need some kind of food to stay alive and with no known host until the coming of humans and covies and thats how many years after the death of the forerunners 10000000's of years if we had to evolve from forerunners as some people suspect.

    Re: Forerunner question

If you had read the Halo Graphic Novel you woulda realised they can infect animals aswell, living and dead, so any sort of organic tissue would be able to sort of "contain the Virus" if you know what i mean, they could even infect a fly i guess, not sure bout tht actually, probs too small, but anyway, yer, any living/dead organism or living/dead tissue

Well the flood have the abilty to put their bodies into a sort of sleep so that they can survive for an unimaginable length of time. And the Forerunners, in all their wisdom, didnt seem to know this. Noobs.

    Re: Forerunner question

I reckon that the forerunners put the flood into a sleep becuase GS says stuff like, im glad some did survive and some of the levels in Halo 2 the description says its a place the forerunners built to study/contain the flood etc.

    Re: Forerunner question

they kept some to study becuase they didnt know everything about the flood, and wanted more knowledge.

and i think they didne expect it becuase the forerunners were really smart, but i guess overmind out smarted them.

    gravemind

and why does everyone consider gravemind some super flood? he's only alive now, on that one ring, he wasn't around when they fired the rings, and he can't communicate with every flood form anywhere

for all we know their are other "gravemind" forms of the flood, hell, keyes may have become one

    Re: Forerunner question

It had to be the TandR cuz it was the only Supply-Ship in the Fleet of Particular Justice, and the only one to enter Halos Orbit.

    Re: Forerunner question

I'm just saying they never mentioned what ship it is and the ODST's would have needed to have captured the control center (where keyes was found) to be able to fly I think, so they would have told Silva about this new type of flood but they didn't so it makes you wonder whether Keyes was on a different ship. Thats all.

Also if he was on a different ship, the reason why bungie didn't change much was because they were running out of time in the end, which is why the level betrayals is just Assualt on the Control room backwards and why the flood are so dumb because they didn't have enough time to script them.

    Re: Forerunner question

Im holding a copy of the flood in my hand. on pg. 288 (beginning of chapter 11)

    "D+ 73:34:16 (Spartan 117 Mission Clock)

On Board the Truth and Reconciliation"

Later in that page Cortana says,"I see the coordinate data needs to be..."

This is the exact same thing Cortana says at the beginning of Keyes.

If you need more proof read chapter eleven following in The Flood

They covered the front, sides and back, but we brought death from above.
