    Alpha base

I think they should make a halo game about what happened to alpha base on halo 04. I would love to be Silva or McKay. I also would love to see the battle that took place at the Pillar of Autuem. Also the battle that happened when the covenant infiltated the base on a pelican, than brought six dropships to the battle. I though that was the best battle. But most important of all is the battle to take the butte from the covenant. Tell if you guys think this would be a good game idea.

You posted this topic just over 30 minutes ago, and then replied to your own topic about 20 minutes ago. Dont expect answers after only 10 minutes of your post existing. In fact just leave it sit for atleast a minimum of 8 hours before you post again in it.

Also its a school day as far as I am aware. Everybody is either in school or sleeping. Though I will be leaving for work shortly as well.

On the topic, I kind of would like to see a game with Alpha Base but at the same time it would be a short lived game. It doesnt have a whole lot of potential. They just didnt have enough engagements to really get a game going.

like said here. it would be a short ived game. and what would you do in it? when the covies first attacked the base no one was able to stop the people that infiltrated it. although from this idea if you made a battle from the covies side it might be interesting but still short lived.

a game only on alpha base would be bland. but a game with alot of sidestirys from the haloverse would be fine

It's not like the marines stay at Alpha base all the time...

I actually thought that all of the marine's stories in The Flood would make an awesome movie. I get excited just thinking about it...

It could work as a game too though.

No of course they dont stay inside of Alpha Base the entire time. They do participate in some major conflicts during the Halo CE campaign. However they wouldnt have ventured far nor often as they have very limited fuel, ammunition and man power. Every loss they sustain is one that can not be made up for. They just couldnt afford to do major strikes against the Covenant unless they had some sort of serious payoff in the end. I just dont see any fights that they could have gone through besides the ones already reflected in the Halo CE campaign.

Actually the battle for POW and for its supplies was a fairly large battle resulting in UNSC victory

You mean the Pillar of Autumn? POW is "prisoner of war". And yes it was a larger conflict however it was only after that battle (and the return trip, which resulted in another fight) that Alpha Base was truely set up. With out those supplys Alpha Base would have crumbled with in probably the first real assault by the Covenant to take back the butte. They were almost out of ammo and had nearly zero air support.

But after that undertaking they were rather quiet. The only other real actions were the rescue of Captain Jacob Keyes, the assault for the Silent Cartographer and the taking of the Truth and Reconciliation. Those were their only major ventures. There were a few heavy actions at Alpha Base though. This includes the Elite assault on Alpha Base that was triggered by the grunt Yayap and the Flood incursion. But other then those actions not a whole lot went on for them.

Its possable to make a short campaign dealing with those actions but not enough to make a full fledged game with a large story line and multiplayer I would think. And thats only because during their "ventures" they didnt do a whole lot. Most of it was the Master Chief doing the work. That just doesnt sound like an interesting game to me. Its a good start though.

Yes I know POW does stand for prisoner of war. But, it is also used to abbreviate Pillar of Autumn. and even though those were the only really major battles you could probably work something out

Then your looking for POA as the correct abbreviation. Not POW.
