offence to get them riled up and then a bit of defence and then a large offence to finish them.

    Re: Defense or Offense?

I usually always build up a very good defense then build up my offensive units then send my somewhat strong units to breach a hole in their defenses.

then i just pour everything into there base. x]

    Re: Defense or Offense?

I like Blitzkrieg, Hit & Run and Flank striking. Quick offensive strikes and a decent home defense.

The flank striking is for when they send out large forces. I send in faster units to wear down on them and hopefully take out a few.

We all know what Blitzkrieg is (Trans: Lightning Warfare) but I don't people to say that I rush. With Blitzkreig you send in a large force of heavy armor to quickly roll over the oposition. Then you send in infantry one step behind to mop up. During the whole battle you have heavy air support. I use this stratgy when I need to gain room and fast.

Hit & Run is for disrupting enemy movement and production. With outgoing enemy units, I'll slam them with a few quick ground units and a bit of air support, while with their base I would have a quick artillery strike/air strike and then move my units out of range. The artillery strike would be aimed at power plants to achieve maximum disruption and collatoral damage.

I prefer to control an ever expanding piece of real estate.

This is a new kind of war, I'm not sure I fit in anymore.

    Re: Defense or Offense?

Well, when I was playing RTS games against other clans, my job was to guard and defend all of my teammates while they attack.

I always had the biggest and strongest base to, so whenever they needed to escape their base, they go to mine.

I thought I said detailed, but okay as for Boot To The Head very nice and a very accurate account of a Blitzkrieg.

    Re: Defense or Offense?

Once it gets close to the end of the time limit, I'll send my entire defense force to other team and see how they cope with that.

If they do survive the attack, that was my last resort plan so I will quickly build Infantry like no tomorrow and launch that at the enemy.

    Re: Defense or Offense?

Another one of the things i do sometimes is have a constant attack or just set up certain areas with small squads of units so that i can counterattack areas if i need too.

In halo wars this would probably contain a couple warthogs and marines, or possibly a scorpion and marines.

    Re: Defense or Offense?

    I'm 2/3 defence and 1/3 offense.

I usually build up a defence and once the defence is near to full-proof send out small offense parties. I like to nibble at my opponent then when I get bored I whollop the enemy with an enormous offensive force to strike the last mortal blow. This is why I like diversity because without it I quickly tire of nibbling at my opponent therefore the game then loses its enjoyment factor as well as replay-ability. The more units available for construction and variants... the better and that's why the flame-thrower marines are a welcome addition to Halo Wars.

I hope there's more then a large selection of air units within the UNSC arsenal, the pelican needs and should be available for construction and use as you see fit. The same goes with the ODTSs, sniper marines, sparrowhawk and spectre. With more units there come tactical options.

    Defence all the way.
