In the level "the Covenant" why didnt she just shoot Truth when she had that shotgun and pistol in her hands?  I mean it didnt look like he had any form of energy sheild around his chair so all it would have taken would be 1 simple movement for her to turn, and pull the trigger.  It would have prevented Truth from firing the rings and maybe Keyes could have even killed the guard brutes in the area.  But even so, she probably would have been killed by the flood.

he has a shield just like regret and all the high prophets do. killing Johnson and herself would've been a far better choice than fighting it out.

If she had shot Truth then the brutes would have certainly killed not only her but Johnson. That wasnt part of her objective. She wanted to save Johnson. 

The reason why this would happen is the brutes besides being stupid are extremely loyal. Their job there was to protect their master. In failing with that they need to take revenge on those who managed to slip past their guard. Something the Sangheili never were able to accomplish. It would atleast restore a bit of honor to them and possably keep them from loosing their position.

I think that if it did come down to a shoot out she would have atleast have been able to hold the brutes off till we as the MC and the arbitor could get there. Its just a matter of being smart and ducking behind and inside the pelican and keep moving.... but no one is able to think THAT clearly in a stick situation that she put herself in.
