It was sorta interesting.

The begining where the "pods" are dropping sounds like the sound used in the begining vide for Team Ninja's games.

Notice the covenant ship coming out from behind the building roughly between 9 seconds and 12 sec.

That is Regret's flag ship. It is were the explosion comes from. This trailer is set around Halo 2 time line. When the covenant first attacked Earth.

It looks like those are HEV's being dropped prior to the New Mombassa Slipspace Event.  Most of the pods are caught in the blast, but one lands....  I wonder what this could be?  Clearly it is for Halo 3, as it states in the trailer.

There is alot of erieness to this trailer.  Only time and patience will discover what it really means.  Hopefully, we will learn more about this mysterious occurance.

I doubt it is for halo 3. Due to it being the New Mombasa slipspace. For Halo 3 starts off during the second covenant attack on Earth.

In my opinion, even though the trailer is pre-rendered. (Or at least looks like it)  New Mombassa looks amazingly detailed.  It's apperance is so much better than the giant bricks called buildings in Halo 2.   I can't wait.

In my opinion, even though the trailer is pre-rendered. (Or at least looks like it)  New Mombassa looks amazingly detailed.  It's apperance is so much better than the giant bricks called buildings in Halo 2.   I can't wait.

And even though it is pre rendered it maintains the realm of possibility for in game graphics, or it was just under polished. The most sophisticated thing in that video it what seems to me volumetric smoke. And the greatly done shockwave animation for the final drop pod.

That guy has alot of time on his hands.  If the pods are not ODST, what type could they be?

Well according to him they look like Covenant drop pods only more square. More square could possibly represent more armor, because the troops inside could be more valuable. And this is Regret's ship so there are Honor Guards aboard so perhaps it is their pods?
