anyways i believe i heard a rumor about elites having a new armor, but its a second hand account so it may not be true.

Well this is probably dissapointing, but there will not be any new armor in halo 3, ever. Or at least thats what bungie has stated in one of their weekly updates, i forgot exactly which one it was, but if u want to see for yourself look through them and its one of the updates where they answer peoples questions. So there will not be any new armor with the new achievements.

I think that they should have new armor with the new Halo 3 achievements.  I doubt that they are ganna make new armor though.

Not in this case. They physically can't because of software issues. They didn't program in a back door to allow for more armor perms.

Even if a squad of marines out of dozens of units on a battle field has shoulder pads .25" too thick for a fanboy's tastes :)

It was in a Bungie weekly update, among the Q&As. It was fairly recent, within the past two months.

Well, anyways, they went on to deny that they have any plans on making more armor permutations, and explained that although they'd just LOVE to make more, the game engine simply won't allow for it.
