Hunters?

    Hunters?

    in all of the current demo's that I have seen the hunters seem under-powered to me they fire small shots versus the few second stream that was seen in all halos if you have read the books their arm cannons were incredibly strong and also they were not deployed very often, in halo wars it seems that a pair or two of hunters appear in every mob of enemies. i understand that this is set in the past of the halo universe but covenant supposedly do not advance their technology they are imitative so their technology should be very similar to halo 1,2, and 3 anyone have any explanation's for this?

    As for the weakness of they're guns i agree they didn't look too devastating, but about the amount of hunters, ensemble wants players to be able to play through a battle whatever was they want therefor making the amount of hunters limited would bring in to question the amount of other units are typically in ground engagements therefor limiting gamplay and making it a less enjoyable playing experience for most players

    i acknowledge that a pop cap is unfair what i was going for is it seems that hunter must not be very expensive if they can be so easily produced wouldn't it be more logical that the giant walking tank units cost a large amount of resources also as a secondary thought they could include the prolonged plasma bolt as a upgrade for hunter's which would be reasonable in the games and in books hunters were rarely seen except around crucial defensive points so it seems fair to say that it must not have been easy to conscript them or they would have been seen more often

    yeah good point they could have that for an upgrade and they should be quite expensive but u never know what ensemble will do they could have changed it already

    have u ever played halo 1 the shots are just like what they are in the demo and just becuase they are imitative doesnt mean they cant improve on the tech or have different series of it and i think ES is tryin to give it a pre halo feel whith the halo 1 fuel rod shots and they where playing on legendary on some of the vids so thats why there so many hunters the covenant probaly collect reosources faster than you  to in crease the difficulty

    true true it will be interesting to see what upgrades will be available for covenant skirmish play

    In halo 1 they did not fire a stream they fired a single shot they had to charge first, i don't think they are underpowered and a player should be able to play in the style they like.

    true but my point is that throughout the books they always mentioned the covenant never advancing forward with their technology and hunters were active in battles long before the covenant -human war it seems like their weaponry should be the same throughout the entire war

    for reasons like that that they haven't released it yet.

    they're probobly fixing the issue of under poweredness as we speak.

    btw in halo 1 the hunters didn't shoot in streams. just so you know. :)

    no in halo one they fired a concentrated shot that with considerable power and aoe in the demos the hunter's appear to deal very little damage to the human troops and tanks which seems unlike the books and games

    Thats what i said they fire one shot and you don't know for sure how much damage it deals compared with other units. And if it is really underpowered then they still have enough time to fix it what i really don't like about the hunters in halo wars is the fact that the don't come in pairs.
