Why does ES allways say "its 20 years earlier so MC isnt around yet" every time they get asked about MC in the game!? look at almost every article, you'll find the same stupid phrase... John is 43 years old, ofcourse he's around! he was fighting rebels since he was 15... why cant they just say "he is not in the game cuz he is doing something else in this time period" ???..... garh..

at around this period MC was fighting covies but there was no mention of SoF so thats y hes not there so endouvers right. ;)

Actually during the first contact, John had not even completed training. He was still down in the mines at reach, in th months later he received his first suit of armor, and was sent to eliminate a rebel leader. And if i remember correctly he doesnt go into any ground engagements with Admiral Cole.

Well during this time period,  the Chief was busy leading covert ops against the covenant. He had only graduated from the Spartan program 6 years previously. I believe in ghost of Onyx, it details the chief was on missions against the URF. So he's  probably busy elsewhere in the Halo universe.

I think that is for the best. I don't want him in this game.

i dont want him in the game either vigil. i prefer this game to be purely bout the marines and the unfair odds they had to overcome.

I don't want him in as not every game needs the Chief to be there. I think a focus on the marines desperate struggle against a superior enemy is a good focus as well.

OMG have you read my post? i know he didnt fight the covies at harvest but still, HE WAS AROUND, just not at harvest, thats why i said "why cant they just say "he was doing something else in this period" i am talking about how ES is making it seem like MC wasnt even born at this time..  they  have made some  of the press people believe this atleast... i can fully understand why MC is not in the game, because he wasnt apart of this specific struggle, BUT he was still around, just doing something else....

oh ya my english isnt the best so i guess it could be misunderstood...

 ya i know, all the books suggest theres more spartans alive... also one of the comics in the graphic novel... well its probably some marketing stuff.. the other spartans is officially bungie halo stuffie canon

No need to swear. I glad they didn't show up they would be far too powerful.

For a while I thought they would be in, a preview in the offical xbox magazine said they were fighting with Spartans in campiagn. They also said the elephant could destroy a scorpion or wraith in seconds.

They turned out to be a little wrong though.
