I had an old argument with some-one, before I had Halo 3, or Contact harvest. I was writing about the forerunner/humans debate, and was crushed when I suggested that humans WERE forerunners. I was told that it was impossible and nothing suggested that they were. I finally agreed that there was no connection and went along with my life. Later, when i bought halo 3, i noticed several monologues (2) that supported my theory. One being the gravemind on the level Cortana, speaking about the MC's ancestors and their wars against the flood, and the other being on the level Halo, when the monitor talks about Johnson and Chief being forerunner. I brought these points up, and was told that they were not enough proof to make anybody believe me. Now I'm bringing up my third point! In the book contact harvest, there is one major instance where humans are displayed as forerunner. While three prophets are talking inside the dreadnought, an oracle activates, yelling that their religion is a falsehood. It says that the sign they believed meant a relic to be reclaimed, was actually a sign for reclaimer, or humans. So when they found Harvest, they thought that the planet was full of relics. It was actually just humans, forerunner descendants. The oracle then goes on to say that the humans are forerunner, and that they did not go on the great journey (the halo activation) like the rest of their species. It then says that they must be brought to the ark. Confirming that the ark (as it was also used in the bible) was a safe haven for forerunner to escape the activation of the halo array. This book also confirms my suspicion (several times) that Johnson was a spartan I. On page 47, a marine recruiter is checking Johnson's records. The first project to appear: Orion. Since I'm a huge fan of Halo, I looked up what Orion is. If you check it up on Halopedia, or wikipedia, the answer will be something like this. Project Orion was a plan developed by Dr. Halsey. It was a set of vigorous training excercises followed by surgery and drug inductions that would effectively create a superhuman. It wa somewhat similar to the Spartan II program, except less intense, costly, time consuming, and would over-all create much lower-level soldiers than the spartans. It was experimental. So, to who-ever said that Johnson is not a spartan, that humans are not forerunner descendants, and the ark was not a place to survive the flood (bible reference to the max) IN YOUR FACE!
