The Untold Stories
2531 Harvest
Mark Stillman was only 20 when he signed up for the marines. A sweet faced kid with hair of gold. Truth be told he was not fond of the marines. He never liked fighting, but nonetheless he was needed. Now more than ever. Mark was stationed on Harvest when he got his first taste of action.
He was with his sqaud playing a game of basketball when the attacks started. In the squad was Alex Garcia, Nick Moreno, Jack Jameson, Jose soto, and of course Mark Stillman. Private first class Alex Garcia noticed it all first.
"What the.." said Alex dropping the ball to the ground and looking up. "Thats an explosion."
"Way to go genius." retorded PFC Jameson.
Gunnery Seargent Nick Moreno was the first to respond. "Inside marines get in your uniforms and await further orders." as soon as he finished that sentence the bases sirens began wailing. At first it startled Mark and he jump in place. All Mark's squad mates began to lagh.
"Get going!" yelled Gunnery Segeant Moreno.
"Sir yes Sir!" came the usual chorus.
Everyone ran to their bunks and got their gear on as quickly as possible. Shortly after Moreno walked in and briefed them in.
"The planet is under attack by an alien force." He began.
"Comin' on a little strong don't you think Sarge?" questioned Soto. "I mean aliens."
"Get over it Corporal. The WHOLE 17th division has been stationed in the city of Mekkido. Get a move on marines.
"Sir yes Sir!"
"Who's ready to spill some alien blood"
"Hoorah"

2531 City of Mekkido
Mark and his squad were stationed at the top of an office building with another squad. The other squad was in their company, Delta company. They had a sniper whose name Mark had already forgotten. Mark and his squad were supposed to help civilians onto pelicans that would take them onto a colony ship.
"Ma'am calm down we'll get you on the next flight." Mark said to a woman who was angry at Mark for not getting her and her children on the previous pelican.
"I can't believe this...." she started the sentence but could never finish it because at that moment a Banshee came by and opened fire on the crowd.
"Everyone get off the roof!" yelled Moreno.
"What is that sarge?" asked Pfc Jack.
"I have no idea." he replied. But as he did a whole squad of the banshees came as if from nowhere and opened fire.
As if from instinct Mark took his BR55HB SR and opened fire. He knew it would do no good, but he still had to try. The sniper was the first to go.
"Mark pick up that sniper rifle!" yelled Moreno.
Mark ran as fast as he could while trying to dodge Banshee fire. He picked up the rifle and looked into the sights. He fired two shots into the cockpit of the Banshee. He watched as the front of the alien craft crumpled in. Alex picked up his Rocket launcher and fired at another pair of Banshees.
"Just two more!" pfc Garcia yelled. Just as he finished that sentence the remaining two retreated.
"Alright good job men." said Moreno with a satisfying grin on his face.
Later that evening
Mark crawled into his bunk and started to think. He thought about how he got stuck on Harvest. And his old squad. But mostly what happened on that day, the day he lost three of his best friends. He turned on his side while remembering.
He had just joined the marines and was stationed on a planet on the outer reaches of Human controlled space. There had been some fighting on the closest planet to them and reports say they are not a civil uprising so the marines are on high alert.
Mark and his old squad were on lookout duty for the base. If they saw anything strange they were to report it to command and nothing else. They were told the rules of engangement were only to open fire when fired upon. Mark thought this would all blow over soon enough so he didn't get too worked up on it.
His squadmate, and good friend, Luis noticed something moving around in the bushes.
"Whats that?" he asked as he saw a little head pop out of the bushes and go back in.
Then as if on que a wave of blue and green blobs came straight at them. Luis got hit and went dow with a grunt.
"Crap!" yelled private Stillman.
He picked up his BR and began to fire at whatever was shooting at him. Right after the rest of his squad joined in. Man after man went down soon it was just him and Lieutenant Hernandez.
"We have to retreat!" yelled Hernandez over the sound of gunfire.
"Yes sir. Whatever you say sir!" came the reply.
They both ran out of there like children. They ran straight to the H.Q. hut.
"What's wrong Lieutenant?" asked Colonal Unida.
"Sir we have enenmy contact." was his reply.
"Did you see exactly what we're up against Lieutenant?" asked the Colonal.
"No sir, but we did get a little look at the weapons they are using." responded the Lieutenant.
"Enlighten me." said the colonal.
"Well sir they were very advanced. They shot blobs an-..." that's all the Lieutenant cold get out because the Colonal cut him short.
"Thank you very much. Sound the alarm!" came his cliche reply.
"Sir," began the Lieutenant.
"Yes." was the simple reply.
"Our squad was decimated, Sir." said the Lieutenant.
"Group up with Epsilon squad." was his reply.

Mark came out of his daze when he heard the familiar sound of gunfire. He grabbed his Battle Rifle and found his Searent talking on the radio. "Mark where the hell have you been we need you out here!" Sarge chastized.
"Grab a rocket launcher and take out those Wraiths!" he ordered.
"Wraiths?" Asked Mark.
"Yes the enemy tanks they're purple." answered Sarge.

Mark found a rocket launcher, checked if it was loaded and went to a window. What he saw wasn't pretty. Marines were using fallen brothers in arms as cover. They had literally piled dead bodies on top of each other and used them for cover. There was only seven out there holding back the assualt. He aimed steadily and fired at the first of two Wraiths. It exploded in a blue light show. Directly below he could hear the cheers of of the Marines. Mark aimed and fired at the last Wraith. BOOM. " Bye-bye freaks." thought Mark.
Mark set the rocket launcher down and grabbed a shotgun and some ammo. He rushed down the steps as fast as he could. The problem was he was at the sixth floor and he needed to get to the bottom. As soon as he got to the bottom he noticed there were more marines down there. He saw his squad and rushed over to them. He picked a spot next to Alex.
"Where you been man, we missed you?" came Alex's well known sarcasm.
"I was playing football on the roof. The ball fell off so I came to get it back." said Mark.
All of a sudden there was this big "Hoorah!" from all directions around him.
Mark got his first good look of the enemy. They were four feet tall and the Marines called them grunts. There were some taller ones with shields that they called jackals. "Watch out for those jackals man!" yelled Alex.
