What do you guys think this means in terms of development stages and how far away the game is?

I hope this means if internal microsoft tests are happening that the game is almost playable for the general public. BETA anyone?

even if it was just the e3 demo from a few months ago that would do nicely for all the fans, they could sent hawks over and send tanks and missiles from the silos. however it is their choice, they said that they were getting most of their feedback from their inside company games so a beta was not needed.

 

however as the alpha has come out you could follow the pattern of halo 3, so the beta version should come out in a few months and the epsilon build around about october if it follows the previous game

If this is true then Halo Wars will be coming out within the next 1-2 months or less. Alpha's are more complete then Beta's, if you didn't know. Which means its too late to have a public Beta as they are past the Beta stage.

Sway is a video game, obviously there is an exclusive public Alpha available if you buy Sway. Top secret at that, *oops... did i leek info?* :)

an Alpha is a private pre build stage where some gametypes can be tested... things are still able to be changed a lot

 

so in an alpha stage the public will generally not get to play

 

so technically they are exactly the same as before.... that have a playable vers.... but only they get to play

Oh crap... your right, my mistake, it go's alpha, beta, delta(or gamma), gold. Sorry, my desire for the games quik release clouded my memory.

I am a game designer after all, and not some little kid either, i went to college and used to work for microsoft. And your dumb, while sway is indeed the halo wars code name it is also the name of an xbox 360 game.

They are most likely testing it on xbox live, i too have seen things like this. "********-Playing sway. MatchMaking in CompStomp." I was like, that sounds like a fun game, but now i know it was halo wars because sway the game isnt an RTS.
