    Re: Air Strikes

I would think so. But from what I understand in Halo Wars, they only have "Shortsword" fighter/bombers...and I think that the covenent would have thier Seraph fighters do strafeing runs. Since each faction would have to be unique, I think that UNSC Shortsword bombers would be very quick, but would only have one high powered payload, but be fragile. Kind of like a mix between a Nod Virtigo bobmer and a GDI Firehawk...without the stealth. As for the covenent, the Seraph would probably be fast, and heavily armored due to shields, but it would do strafing runs instead of bombs. That seems pretty balanced to me.

If Ignorance is bliss, then I am a one-man orgy.

If you are reading this, then you probably have also read the two cents i just put into this threads pot. :)

The MAC ORbital Bombardment is a arguable final ability, It's HIGHLY un-canon and there are more effective alternatives.

    Re: Air Strikes

It could be like in Empire at War where if you have a fleet of Y-Wings over a world, you can send them in for a bombing run. You could order Longswords in space for a quick bombing, but Shortswords would be your primary atmospheric bombers.

The y-wing thing could work with shortswords plus anyone know if the MAC is going to make the final cut

    Re: Air Strikes

So far, all we know is what's NOT going to make the cut and that's Cougars and Air Artillery. :(

As for airstrikes...well, it makes sense, though I'm guessing it may be reserved to Shortswords, with Sparrowhawks being an in-game unit.

    Re: Air Strikes

This is a good suggjestion. But was it provocted by CoD4 ? I would like it if they didn't remind to much of CoD4. I play to much as it is.

Um, what does COD4 have to do with a Halo game, and an RTS one at that?

    Re: Air Strikes

Don't answer that question, lets keep this on topic.

If there going to have bombing raids or whatever without air artillery, how would you defend? Don't answer with alot of marines or spartans. Thats always an option but "alot" of anything costs alot, everyone wants cheap and good.

    Re: Air Strikes

Well there'd likely be anti-air emplacements and the Wolverine specializes in taking out air units. Besides, air raids are short lived and while they can damage an enemy, they're not going to take him out. At best, it softens the enemy up for a ground attack.

    Yea, I'm here.

Airstrikes....maybe. It all depends on whether or not they put the Shortsword in the game.
