Halo: The Lone Survivor’s

| Aboard “The Crow”, UNSC Warship. 0300 Hours |

            Spartan-073-James looked around the room. His vision was gray; he looked to his right and saw Spartan-091-Zach crouched, firing ahead. His vision blurred and went black.

            0500 Hours

            James felt a shrug on his shoulder. “Come on, get up quickly.” Came from the shrug. James turned onto his back and tried to look at his surroundings. There was another shrug. His vision became clearer. He saw a large dark figure looking at him. His vision became clearer and his HUD activated. His HUD displayed Spartan-091-Zach. Zach pulled James up to his feet. “What the hell happened?” Said James; “You blacked out during the battle.” James felt pain from his chest; putting his hand on his chest, he could feel liquid come out from it. He glanced down and saw a hole in his MJLONIR armor and blood in his hands. He had been hit. Zach and James walk to the medical bay. As they are walking James sees many Covenant and Human bodies. He steps over a Spartans body, which is positioned in an upright seating position against a wall. James vision goes black briefly and he stumbles but regains control. The 2 Spartans arrive at the Medical bay and James climbs up on the Medical Bed. The Medic prepares and start’s working on James’s wounds. As the medic finishes up by putting Biofoam on James’s wounds, the ship jerks and everyone stumbles. “This is as much as I can do.” Said the Medic; “Be careful.” James and Zach walk out the room and head to the bridge. As they are walking, they see many dead bodies. “How many are still alive?” said James. Zach said “Unknown. No-one has been added to the KIA Roster.” The Spartans arrive at the bridge; they find nothing but dead crewmembers. The captain is also dead. Zach opened a COM to all Omega Team Spartans. “Omega team, report to bridge immediately.” The Omega Team regroups at the bridge. Zach checks the roster. “Sam, Chelsea, and Frank are MIA. Brittany is KIA.”  Zach goes to the Holopanel and touches a key. “***!” said Zach, “They took Serenity.” He paused. “We have to get that AI back. It has info about this creation of this ship. We cannot let the covenant find the details. Jeff, take Linda and grab any supplies you can find. Will, prepare a Pelican. Arm it with as many Chain guns and Missiles you can. Load as much ammo and weapons on. James get this ship engines running.” The Spartans disperse to do their jobs. A few minutes later… “Ship’s engines will only go up to 75%, we have enough for 1 slipspace jump” said James. “Don’t worry that’s all we will need.” Zach opens a COM to the Spartan Team. “Finish what your doing and report to the deck. Out.” Zach shut’s off the COM. Moments later, the group arrives. “James, set us a direct course for a slipspace jump to Reach. The rest of you climb in the remaining cyrotubes and get some sleep. We will wake you when it’s time.” The Spartans jog through the ship and climb into their cyrotubes. “What is the estimated time till destination?” said Zach. “ETA 8 Hours.” Said James, “What are you planning on doing?” Zach chuckled. “Walking us through hell.” Said Zach.

            Chapter 2: The Arrival

            Zach walks down to the cyrotube bay. He taps some controls and the cyrotubes start to defrost the Spartans. The Spartans climb out of the cyrotubes. “How long until ETA?” Jeff said holding his head. Zach replied “1 hour. I want you guys to do a final check on the equipment I had you prepare.” Acknowledgement Lights winked on and the Spartans dispersed. Zach walked back to the bridge. “Sir, we’re getting to close to Reach’s magnetic field.” Said James. “That’s right.” Replied Zach. Zach opened a COM to Spartan Group Omega. “Will, start up the pelican and prepare for liftoff. Jeff. Linda. Strap everything down and get in, we are coming down soon.” Said Zach. “Sir, we’ve hit the magnetic field, were losing control.” Announced James. “Turn this ship on its side and shut down all power. We’re moving get to the pelican!” Zach replied. James figures with the controls and sprints behind Zach to the hangar. Running down a hallway, James hits his leg against Brittany the fallen Spartan and crashes his helmet hitting the wall. He stumbles and keeps moving. “Hurry! The ship is rotating, we need to leave soon.” Will announced over the COM. The 2 Spartans reach the hangar and jump into the pelican. Will shuts the door, lifts off, and accelerates out of the ship. James takes a seat and Zach walks into the cockpit and sits in the co-pilot seat. “Were coming too fast, were going to burn up in the atmosphere.” Said Will. “Understood” replied Zach. Zach walks out of the cockpit and holds onto a rail. “50 Meters from touchdown!” Announced Will over the COM. Zach opens a COM to all Spartan Group Omega. “Turn your shields to full generation. We are jumping! Let’s move Will.” Said Zach. The Spartans turn their shields to full generation and the hatch of the pelican opens. Jeff, Linda, and Will jump out the back. Zach grabs James and pulls him with him. They jump. Will lands on the ground hard but lands on one knee with one hand on the ground sweat coming from his helmet. Jeff lands but stays remaining on the ground. Linda hits and stands up trying to regain focus. Shortly after Zach lands on his feet fine. James however comes crashing down and hits his head on a tree. His body flies down hill a few meters as the pelican crashes into the forerunner structure exploding and then crashing into the ground away from the Spartans. Zach picks up James helmet and out falls his head onto his foot. Inside his helmet, Zach closes his eyes in disgust. Jeff goes behind a tree, throws his helmet down and pukes. Zach puts his helmet down, goes to James body and grabs his dog tags. Jeff puts his helmet on and comes out from behind the tree. The Spartans walk over to the Pelican crash and grab all weapons and ammo they can find. “What’s the plan?” said Linda. Zach puts a fresh load into his pistol, cocks it, and says, “Save reach.”

Chapter 3: Hell Broken Loose.

| “Reach” 1600 Hours. |

            “Fort Charlie is 3 klicks away, we’re going to move on foot and scan the area for survivors. Alpha Team is said to be holding point in a cave south from there.” Said Zach, “Lets move.” The group starts walking towards Fort Charlie, guns prepared.

            The golden elite stepped in front of the cave entrance. He clicked on his energy shield and lunged down into the cave. Spartan-043-Randy was standing right in front of the elite. The elite lunged his sword through Randy leaving a hole in his neck and his chest. The elite roared at the Spartan and tossed him to the ground. Grunts swarmed the cave instantly. An elite grabbed his shoulder. “Our banshees think they spotted a Human Crash site.” The golden Elite turned to him. “Have them scan the area. I want search teams down there.” He clicks off his energy sword and hands it to him. “You’ll need this.” The gold elite turns back around, and start down the cave. “Yes Zamanee.” Said the Elite. The elite was wearing black armor, specops elite.

            Zach stepped over a dead body. He opened a COM to Spartan Team Omega. “Any survivors?” There was silence for a moment. “Negative.” Replied over the COM. “Meet at HQ, we’re going to move to the cave.” The team regroups at HQ and heads out to the cave. On arrival, they see the walls are black with plasma fire. Zach lifts his weapon and slowly starts down the cave. He clicks on his flashlight, so does the others. He kneels next to Randy’s body. He grabs his dog tags. Spartan-043-Randy. He puts the dog tags in his pocket and continues down. He bounces of something; he takes a glance but sees nothing. He realized something was actually there. Just then, the elite clicks on his energy sword and turns his camo off. He lunges at Zach and scraps his chest, blood sprays out onto the elite and the rest of the Spartans open fire. The mow the elite down. Linda kneels next to Zach and puts biofoam on the cut stopping the bleeding. Zach grabs his gun and rises. The continue further and all they find is dead Spartans. “They’re gone.” Said Zach. “There’s none left.” Zach opens a COM to Echo 234. “Echo come in, we need immediate pickup.” There was static. “Negative. Banshees on my tail. Salvage what you ca—“the COM went dead. Zach and the Spartans walk out of the cave. “Linda, search for any transportation. Jeff, grab the base’s AI.” The Spartans Disperse. Zach looks up in the sky to his left and sees an incoming Phantom. “Come on! Into the base.” Will nods his head and they sprint for the base. Inside Will climbs onto the roof, operates the Chain gun turret, and fires at the incoming Phantom. Zach finds a rocket launcher with 2 shots left and climbs to the top. He aims and fires at the phantom, he misses. The Phantom is coming closer. He grabs a dropped plasma grenade and throws it at the Phantom firing a rocket after hitting the Phantom as the Grenade explodes. The Phantom loses control and heads straight for them. Linda arrives outside with a warthog and beeps. Zach and Will jump on it and they clear the crash. The Phantom hits taking out the Base. Linda turns around and Will jumps out at they arrive at the base. He scans the crash site with his pistol ready and finds Jeff’s body. He kneels down to the body and checks for a pulse. Nothing. He sees a dead elite lying on his back and shoots it once in the head. He gets back into the warthog. “This is pissing me off.” He said. “Let’s end this.” Said Zach. Will reloads his pistol. “Hoo-Rah.” Linda presses on the Gas and they head for Alpha HQ.

            Chapter 4: The Fall of Reach.
