this is my first fan fiction but it's not my first story, tell me what you think about it
Chapter 1
“Let’s get the *** out of here” yelled capt. Joe Hansworth“those grunts will be back any minute, and they’ll have elites with them”
“ok” his men replied
The remains of the squad of marines mounted their trooptransport ‘hog
“radio a pelican to meet us 2 miles south of here” Joe ordered of his communications man,Ivan Denishovek
“move!”
The warthog drove south for a few minutes; the going wasslow because of the rubble on the streets of New Mombassa.
“how did the Covenant even find earth?” wondered privateReynolds
“I don’t know, and I don’t care” replied Joe “we just needto get back to In Amber Clad before welose any more soldiers”
A jackal sniper watched the warthog approach hisposition. He signaled hiscommander, who then readied his grunts to attack.
Ivan saw the plasma grenade on the road ahead first.
“stop! turn!” he told the driver,. To late, the driver turned the wheel and the stickyexploded, overturning the ‘hog and hurling it’s occupants onto the road
“get behind cover, shoot the son of a *** that killed mycar”
the marines hid behind the ‘hog and some stones on the roadand fired upon some grunts in an alley. The sniper fired, wounding a marine. Joe killed it with his battle rifle.
“I want a grenade in that alley!”
Some dead grunts flew out and splattered on the road. A shimmering form flashed out of thealley and suddenly it had a sword.
“stealth elite, kill it now” Joe ordered
“I can’t see it-aaagh!” screamed Reynolds as he was impaled
Ivan fired his shotgun point-blank and the elite was visibleand falling, dead to the road
“cease fire, that was the last of them” Joe said “looks likewe’re going to hoof it the rest of the way to the pelican”
The 2 remaining marines moved though the rubble and madetheir way to the pelican without further incident. They boarded it and made it to In Amber Clad just before it jumped
