    Broken Arrow

    A preview of my fanfic

    Broken Arrow

    October 12, 2550

“Broken Arrow was the callsign I heard over my radio, it chilled me to the core. Everybody knew what it meant, that we were overrun. Joe radioed me and stated calmly: “Hey Mike goodbye.” That was the last I heard of him. As I was firing the AA turret at the Brutes across the street was when the first bombs hit. Half the city was engulfed in a burning swath of light that was rapidly advancing towards me. I jumped from the warthog ad hit the dirt. Suddenly everything went black. I knew I was dead.”

    10 minutes later

I woke up in a pile of burnt rubble, my helmet was dented and my faceshield destroyed. I pulled the helmet off, letting blood pour down my darkened face. I got up and took a look around; everything was flattened except for piles of rubble. The stench of burnt flesh was horrid. I could see the black outlines of survivors of the initial blast. Gunshots roamed throughout the day, as stray Brutes were found.”

“I later learned that half of the men in our platoon were dead. These included: Lt. Ross, Cpl. McKinney Pvt. Porter, and Sgt. Parker. Therefore Boomer was promoted to Sergeant. I later managed to find Maria nearby a couple of dead grunts. She had taken a piece of shrapnel in the stomach, Joe was later found alive and well next to Johnny who lost a leg. Boomer and I both had burns all over our bodies and armor. Our sacrifice at the city was not for a human victory but a final act of revenge on the covenant.”

I love it already because you let an African survive they usually are killed in movies lol. Makes perfect sense that he would survive afterall.

Lets see criticism hmm introduce an hold hero like MC or a very interesting one with "Luck".

I got an idea make the African be like MasterChief he is "lucky" you should show how powerful luck is.

Did u know that "Broken Arrow" is actually a code word for a dismantled nuclear warhead (in the real world).

Kinda like "Rouge Spear" from Tom Clancy

    Re: Broken Arrow

No Broken arrow was the code in Vietnam to call in an all out airstrike becuase you were being surrounded and had no real chance of survival. Any combat ready aircraft would fly to the specified coordinates and provide close ground support.

Dont belive me, My dads a Vietnam vet and he knows about those kind of codes(first hand source).

Plus the book We were solgiers they describedwhat it was nothing to do with nukes

Also theres A book named broken arrow if im correct not so sure about that one either way

Good Story But perhaps during the interveiw it would cut back to flashbacks like you did the first post?

Actually Broken Arrow, used to be overrun and Marines need evac immediately. But i think they stopped using that for that after Vietnam.

    Re: Broken Arrow

Ok. Those codes get switched around alot for security reasons.

I think we are both right. My father used to be in stationed in Egypt in the USAF. So he knows about such things

    Whatever... Fairly good story.
