Why does activating halo not kill all sentient life (spoilers)

so the master chief activates halo, but how is activating halo different this time, then the other times.  How does activating halo kill the flood without killing everything else

in halo 3 after you destroy the oracle, he activates the INCOMPLETE halo and just like KillerPickle said it wasnt in range. I think that if the halo was complete it would have destroyed everyything. but do to the fact it wasnt complete it didnt destroy everything. Thats my opinion on this and MASTER CHIEF DOES NOT DIE. watch the ending after the credits

Re: Why does activating halo not kill all sentient life (spoilers)

I thought it had to do with the fact that the arc was outside of the milky way galaxy, and so it wouldn't have killed sentient life on earth even if it was 100% complete.   It kinda confuses me cause it doesn't directly say why it doesn't destroy everything.

ok then if its out of range, what happens when another species/covenant/humans find another ring there are still flood there, and were all the flood that had been released off of delta halo killed our are there still more flood flying around the galaxy.

Re: Why does activating halo not kill all sentient life (spoilers)

yes i know that, but if why doesnt it kill everything basically why does it kill all the flood without killing us, thats the only way the halos were designed to destroy the flood.

Becaue it was't finished, the Halo blew up. again.

and if you listento the lttle 343 Guilty Spark, he saidit would only take out the local infection.

i know that already.  so it takes out hte local infection GREAT! But the flood are still out there, i dont believe that all the flood in the galaxy were located there. and even if they were what about the other halos they still have flood on them

play it on any difficulty and you see that mc doesn't die. and fireheart, lord hood and the arbiter were talking about mc because as far as they know, he is dead. still, watch the video after the credits.

didnt cortana or whoever it was say that gravemind was trying to control this halo so he was close to it and it prob killed him which stopped the prodution of the flood, am i right or am i wrong cause im not sure.
