Only if the Covie is stupid, when it comes to Anders players, if they don't spam Gauss they spam Hawks. You can get a fleet of fully upgraded Vampires out any time after 5 mins without Bonus Reactors and even a slightly upgraded leader can deal with a lot of the Gauss spam provided he has a little backup.

Truth is, if Vamps aren't a high priority for a Covie vs an Anders, he's not doin' it right.

If you have a teammate just have him/her drop a disruption bomb on top of your vampires the moment your vampires engage there stasis beam. That or don't use your stasis beam but instead just keep moving your vampires around. A moving target is always more difficult to hit then a stationary one. *Note* One fully upgraded vampire can destroy four hawks if used correctly.

Fletcher:In what way can the Covenant counter Hawks? A single cryobomb kills all air units it touches. There has to be another way. Are grunts good at fighting Hawks?

im a covie player and if anders has fully upgraded cryo and you fully upgraded vampires and she gets a direct hit in the middle of ur vampires or even hawk/hornets they all will drop except the ones at the very edge of the cryo and i lied i used 2 be a covie player now im a unsc because everydbody knows how 2 stop a covie leader and kill him then u have an army that is technically weaker than the unsc even thou they r a less developed race and r vehicles and troops r still weaker.

ps: all u have 2 do is play with another covie play and u build half hunters and half vampires one loses their vampires the other comes in and thier hunters help the others hunters take out any vehicles and then u attack anders and take her out while she waits 3 min for another cryo and 6 for db.

I dunno, once had an Arbiter player come after me one time with a mass air attack (basically he had full pop of banshees) to my 3 spartanks and 6 fully upgraded (or was it five >.>..) wolverines.

soon as he engages me I drop my super cryo...1 minute after that my opponent wants me to join a party..once I do he tells me that I dropped 14 of his banshees with that cryo..couple that with a few wolverines and he's done for.

and yes I did canister shell his leader :D

I can recall a few instances where cryo really saved my but...

on the topic of vampires/hawks. you can't just send your whole army of vampires against Anders air...because guess which leader power acts like a carpet bomb for air -_-...yeah, cryo.

but then again, it needs to be at least at large I feel to really be effective. (super is like Overkill) medium is meh...don't expect it to drop entire air armies.

Hawks suck against Stasis Vamps without the help of a Cryo Bomb. Flying them inside the Hawks is a beautiful tip that I will do one day.

Vampires... just get them to fly inside the hawks...

A super cryo only kills 6 full health vampires. As Echo already explained.

cookie cryo dosnt really kill that many, and to answer the topic yes grunts are good against hawks and such but there slwo so if they just micro aorund the base you either have to spilt your army, or just keep going in circel trying to kill them, so use vamps just stay close to the hawks and you;'ll be fine, but if the hawsk move you move becuase that emans cryo.

hum, who's my opponent? anders. does she have 10 hogs? nope. but she has an airpad that seems to be active and a locked base.

I wonder what she's doing... probably marines. or scorpions. let's make hunters.

facing Anders with any covie is quite a task. Especially if she mixes hawks and wolverines together. Her anti air can attack your vampires while attacking any ground unit you have (hunters) and while they are doing that they are firing missiles at your vampires, plus her hawks are whiping your hunters or whatever else out at the same time, then half of your army gets frozen, and then a d bomb. now you are F'd. So how do you conquer this!?

You need to put pressure on her the whole game, Covies can rush with their leader. Take their hogs out because all Ander's players build gauss before they go air. Keep coming back, now they will have hornets, your leader and grunts should take them out. If you fail again, come back again.

You have to keep the battle at her base the whole game and do not allow her to get hawks or a vehicle depot the whole game. If you let anders get wolverines and hawks. you should just quit because there is not much you can do.

I personally think cryo is fine right now. Before the last patch though, it was too easy to get a super cryo.

I don't care what the cap is, if I drop a super cryo on your vampires, a good chunk of them will die if not all. Maybe if you have 20 upgraded vampires, some will survive. But chances are, Anders will have hawks before you get stasis bomb.

And if they aren't completely upgraded, you pretty much lose your whole army to cryo. Whatever survived, the hawks can kill while still frozen.

Chances are you wont be able to cleanly drop a cryo on all my vamps without hitting your hawks too....The more units in the cryo the fewer die. Even with the stasis drain upgrade vamps kill hawks. The are the same price and make at the same speed so its not like you could outproduce me. And yes I could easily get stasis bomb before or slightly after you get hawks...but it wouldnt be needed.
