All we really know about the Skyhawk is that it is a V/STOL aircraft with 50mm guns and Scorpion ASMs. This all could fit with the Sparrowhawk though. The only thing is that the Skyhawk is described as a jet, and I don't know if the Sparrowhawk counts as a jet.

the descriptions of them are exactly the same, the Skyhawk could just be anupgraded version, possibly used for high altitudes (consdiering Sky's tend to be higher up than Sparrows lol, jsut in case u never noticed)

I've a question, are the Sparrowhawk and Skyhawk one in the same, or are they similar aircraft used by the UNSC (both appear to be V/STOL atmospherically based close support aircraft, though the Sparrowhawk appears to have been used in 2531 (end of the Harvest Campaign) whereas the Skyhawk is only seen in 2552, though that is more for lack of mentioning)

That passage in Ghosts of Onyx is wrong in itself - if a child was old enough to remember what happened on the refugee ship (say, five years old in 2525), they would be 12 by the time the S-III program started training the kids (2532). Also, Jericho VII didn't get glassed until 3 years after that part of tbe book.

Look at page 96 of Fall of Reach - by the time the first UNSC ships got there, the ones that got destroyed in orbit, the planet was "a cratered, barren desert. Thin grey sunlight reflected off a glassy crust. Heat wavered from the surface. Isolated regions glowed red."

The only time ground forces could be on Harvest, unless they were already there when the Covenant attacked (pretty unlikely) is when Cole arrived months later - and the Covenant, according to the books, had already left the system then and moved to other colonies.

there had to have been because in ghosts of onyx the first group of spartan 3 trainees included survivors from harvest so there had to have been some battle trying to get people of the planet but all hawks would have been destroyed and they were in prototype stage still

I'm pretty sure there was a ground campaign for one thing it says so in the description of the Sparrowhawk and Joe Staten at Bungie hinted at it

The Covenant glassed it straight from orbit, before the first battlegroup (Arabia, Vostok and Hercules) even got there. When they got owned, that's when Cole got his huge fleet together and retook Harvest, even though it was useless to them anyway (all the people were dead and the planet was a wasteland).

um.....did the covenant not attackharvest, while it was a UNSC controlled planet?

Bit late, but anyway...

How can the Sparrowhawk see action on the ground at Harvest when Harvest is a gigantic ball of glass when the UNSC first arrives there, even before Cole's fleet is mobilised?
