"A shorter, planetary version of the Longsword-class Interceptors, hence the new classification: Shortsword." Umm - okay.
There are so many great names that can be picked. Much the same way Spirit of Fire sounds as powerful and memorable as Pillar of Autumn, I think this class of craft can have a more original name that is not derivative of the Longsword ship-based fighters.
Nonetheless, that's an awesome piece of art.
I like the name its short and makes sense.

They've already broken through our defences and encircled us, now they are just picking off the remaining members with artillary barrages, sinpers, and an infantry assult our last patch of land. Our fleets are shattered and cannot break through enough to even send one pelican down.
