CoD is a great game, it's just not profound or innovative.

I would actually disagree here. While it may not be "awesome cool," it took realism to a whole new level. My father got back from Iraq, and the only falacy he found within reason was the amount of trees in the unnamed (Iraq) city. Everything else was nearly spot on. I've heard of soldiers who were in combat freaking out and getting flashbacks. One of my friends actually couldn't play often because her husband would get these.

In this respect I would say that Modern Warfare is innovative.

Modern Warfare was realistic, yes. However they did not build a Universe from the ground up. Sure you can create new types of gameplay and take a realistic approach to a game, and in the years to come people will remember it as it was a great game.

However people will remember Halo for not only being a great game, but having an original story behind it. Modern Warfare was fun to play, but it didn't really take a step towards originality. The creators didn't take a risk with it. It felt like playing any other CoD with different guns and different environments.

Halo took a huge risk when it was created, because what if a majority of people didn't like the story? Then it would have been a failure. Bungie took their chances to portray a story in another universe.

Modern Warfare built upon success while Halo created it, that's what I was saying.

"Die?"Kurt laughed."Didn't you know?"he told the Elite. "...Spartans never die."
