The earlier you can upgrade your first few, the faster they will pay off. Covenant have an easy time upgrading pads after their temple is up, because the money doesn't get spent on Hogs. Upgrade them as you can, but keep in mind the sooner the better.

but would it be better to get fiendish first or upgrade?  it is easy to upgrade the first 2 supply pads when they come up assuming you aren't forced to rage any hogs, but would it normally be better to get some power to arby's punches?
