chaosdoomed:Does anybody think there would ever be a need in real life for the assault rifle? It has a range to about 100 meters at max if your skilled ( Halopedia says 300 meters). Compare that to modern rifles. The only real advantage it has is that it doesn't suffer horrible recoil.  

I don't think there will be (or is) a use for the Halo AR. Since it only takes one or two well-aimed bullets to kill someone, the theory of spraying someone with a few dozen doesn't make sense - especially when that gun can't fire half as far as a normal rifle. Of course, it's necessary for Halo gameplay, which is the only reason it exists.

The BR, pistol, rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and laser are the only human Halo weapons that I can see as having a use in real life. Of course, excluding the laser, we already have those, and our versions are much better than the Halo ones.
