I was actually on my way to go rush his base with a few suicide grunts to cripple his economy early on, and found myself having to run back and fight off a fully-upgraded Prophet with the final beam upgrade. As I'm about to kill off the fully-upgraded Prophet (attacking from five minutes to thirteen) his scarab shows up and practically one-shots my base. Mind you that I only had a few of my rushing units out when his flying prophet shows up and then the beam came down to destroy the temple. AND since it was a 2v2, the other guy had the same stuff attacking my friend.

Well ofcourse a scarab can one shot a base, it can one shot anything! the lazer is continuous!
