How many upgrades are you realisticly going to get? 4-5, so not much saved.

 

You play 1v1 too much.

3 upgrades is already for guass, 1 for reserves. Thats not even half the game in 3v3.

You cant exaclty go straight guass spam in 1v1.

It has to be done in teams.

If you play a real game without gauss spam (I know its not a gurenteed win but hey somtimes I play games for a challenge and FUN) you'll see that you're wrong. As long as you don't go purely for one type of unit you save buckets. Heck even if you go tanks as Anders thats 6 techs if you do it properly.
