Let me paint a picture for you. An army of battleships are sailing across the ocean waving their flags. Then they get hit by repeated MAC gun blasts followed by tons of other orbital fire. Game over. Sounds fun, doesn't it? The point I'm trying to make is that in 2500's who would take a boat rather than a spaceship.

i would....make a few subs with homeing missiles and BOOM there goes the airships =P it would be fun to impliment but the only downside is they would end up being overpowered as you would have say 2-3 subs and 2-3 cobras fully upgraded to defent a base (more if needed) which would make most attacks against you hard to defeat but you never know i guess :)
