CHAOS IN CANTON:Is it just me, or is the UNSC getting a major nerf? I like to play the "good guys," and have put in over 500 games. I have the general feel that the covie are strong than the UNSC as it stands. I play as Anders too!!
I have a rank of 31 on the game. Not great, not bad either. I did not play the game the first month it was out FYI. Oh yeah, I must point out I play almost solely 1 vs 1. By doing this, I can also argue my case better as there are less variable at play.
Okay overall, the Covie have over a 3% win percentage advantage over the UNSC. I hear complaints of newbies play the UNSC so it's flawed. Well if Anders is so great wouldn't the players who play the game day in and day out be playing (in other words...most games would be played w/ Anders...and therefore the UNSC win % should be greater than that of the covie)?
I'm sick of it...being rushed...and I only build warthogs b/c you have to in order to counter the covie rushes. Okay...so I'm a numbers person. I keep voicing opinion, and ask for advice...but can't get anything that works against a good covie player. More often than not an equally matched covie player beats a good UNSC player.
So, I just did some analysis of the top 15 players for each leader over this past month on 1 vs 1 standard.
Did you know, that 7 of the top 10 win % were covie players. For that matter, 14 of the top 20 were covie players. Furthering this, 8 of the bottom 10 were UNSC. Captain Cutter's win %...nobody in the top 20. Surprisingly to me, but shows something...the BC had 7 in the top 20. Next was the arbter with 6. Crazy, but 3 with SF. 3 with PA. And only one with the PoR.
You have to remember this is just based on most wins for the month...but most of these people are some of the best playing online. Does this not speak something? Of the 12 players that had 95% or better win percentages, only 3 were UNSC.
I'm doing some more data crunching...I hope this is how ROBOT is basing most of their changes from. I don't think this is the case...people's opinions can do more harm than good. I read in an earlier post about how the best players think nerf on gauss is okay, but overall the game is pretty even. Then somebody else ranted about they were an inferior gamer and they had a voice too. I agree with everybody getting to speak their voice, but don't we want the leaders to all be even...each having a strenth/weakness? Why would the developers make a lopsided game. If say, the covie are better than the UNSC, and what you want to do is win...then you'd play the covie. I think the overall enjoyment of players...is making a more balanced game, and I think I speak for most everybody. So, the better gamers probably know of some of the problems of the game better...to better reach a final product. BTW, I am not one of these...but I am decent at the game, and have played a fair amount...and I love statistics. Anyway...more to come later.
your right but more people play usnc which also points out more usnc fight usnc which is why more complaints about the warthogs, warthogs where the only unit that was capable stopping covenant in beginning of game and once usnc gets in end game it was more balance to certain degree.
warthogs needs to be nerf but this will make covenant leaders much harder to fight since you can't crush rush them with hogs any more or you might i still think their way stopping spam is sad attempt since they are fixing the wrong area. but never less it will slow it down and with enough buffs to other things most poeple might give up instead searching of regaining its strength back.
main problem i see with covenant is how their special works, their is no draw backs, and only real counter is in masses of army which cause other problems becuase they have an army as well with 10 pop.
with all usnc leader power thier is group or certian type unit that is really effected to usnc one. air is not effect by forge, ground or mas number is not really effected by anders and cutter attack while covenat has effective against all units. on top of that if you look kills on leader power you find a huge descreptency against the covenat and usnc.
I see arbter most freidly since he can't hurt any of his units or others so haveing army mixed with another army he still can move it and crush that army while his untis be safe from his rage. I think they need take that out so micro skill will be more shown, maybe better control scheam.
also por and brute ability needs to effect them if they bring it close to them that any short range weapons ie flamethrower will get slaughter while they stay perfectly safe.
