VaultingFrog 2: UNSC Paris: Felix: Paris, if you think Spartan 117 did all those things alone, you are sadly mistaken. The marines did most of the work. You were just along to help.
Anyway, spartans are black-ops, meant for behind enemy lines, not front lines warfare.
Meaning, engaged in open warfare against any enemy would result in them losing.
In terms of what they do best(stealth) you can only compare them to other stealth units.
So, in essence, this thread is a bunch of non sense and should end.............
now.
So after the majority of UNSC forces on Installation 04 were infected or killed by the Flood or Covenant, who else was left to wade through an ocean of Flood in the Library, retrieve the Index, and stop Spark from activating Installation 04? The Covenant sure weren't gonna do it. I don't think remaining UNSC forces would have sufficent firepower to get the Index and then take and hold the Pillar of Autumn.
Ummm I dont know what game you were playing but the vast majority of the UNSC Marines on Installationnnnnnnnnnnnnn 04 were not infected. They had actually put an excape plan into effect, however their commander was a moron and didnt do his job properly and let Flood aboard the vessel.
So where were you when this was going on? Or did you forget to read? The UNSC was more than equiped to go after the index and destroy the ring.
Choosing to ignore the fact that they used an additional resource instead of actively taking it on themselves doesnt change that fact.
UNSC Paris: And Halo 2? Who was gonna disarm the bomb on Cairo Station? And even if they did, would any of them have the balls to take it out into space, re-arm it inside a Covenant Assault Carrier, and sucessfully escape? If that Covenant Assault Carrier had survived, it would have been much more damaging for the UNSC forces in East Africa, even if the Covenant invasion was brief.
Marines could have and would have dealt with that bomb. As for taking it out into space that was a completely reckless act by Spartan-117 and any commander would say so. He lucked out when he got to that carrier and we all know it.
If you want to play the game of what if then here is something for you:
What if the MC didnt find that hole in the carrier? What if the bomb went off before it was expected too? What if the UNSC was to tied up to sent a bloody warship to pick him up in orbit?
I answer. You wouldnt have any more MC. He would be toast, roasted, destroyed, crushed, flat out dead.
Yes that carrier could have caused many more casualties however the UNSC was preping for such an eventuallity anyways.
UNSC Paris:
Who was gonna kill the Prophet of Regret? Certainly not the UNSC, as they wouldn't have sufficent resources to do it without a Spartan. What about fighting their way through High Charity, let alone even trying to penetrate it?
The UNSC would have gotten him eventually. If not there then else where. Prophets are not immortal. High Charity would be a regular boarding action. It could be done. And as it was the MC bairly even scratched the surface of High Charity. The whole objective of that level is to skip the fights and keep moving. Marines could easily have done the same.
Oh not to mention he got major help from the Great Schism. The civil war that was raging allowed him easy access.
UNSC Paris:
What about in Halo 3? Do you really think even the combined UNSC-Seperatist force would be able to fight their way into High Charity, retrieve Cortana, defeat the Gravemind, and get back out? Actually, Mendicant Bias hints at being more helpful than the Marines ever were during the Battle of Installation 00.
Yes actually I do. Mendicant Bias can hint all he wants, human is human. How many humans have worn the title of Reclaimer? Every bloody one. It didnt matter if it was the MC or not Mendicant would have helped no matter what.
Marines are more then capable to do all of those things.
Its a pitty you couldnt see that.
You know what, I can't reply to all those, and I know I can't, because you seem to be one of those people that virtrually holler:
"I'm right, you're wrong, all your opinions are null, everything I say is right and you can never contradict me with your faulty logic."
You know what buddy, that's where I cross the line. Having an intelligent debate with you seems impossible. All I'm gonna say is: you seem to have absolutely no clue on how very, very close the UNSC was to total collapse. They were at the mercy of Rtas's fleet for lords' sake.
I feel like Felix has the capacity to deal with you, unless he, of course, disagrees with everything I said.
Then again, Felix would actually be more open to debate, wouldn't he?
