in the book fall of reach at the point when the spartans are taken to see their armour they use a pelican to come up from the planet though the description of the planet and the ship is far away from the planet to lure the covenant ship away from the planet whilst they are flying half way through the flight to the ship the spartans jump to the covie ship and blow it up how do you think they got the pelican from the planet to the ship if i can't escape the gravity also there is gravity on the planet because when they are on the facility they do not float around thus proving that there is gravity because they do not posses the tech to create artificial gravity at that point in the time line
