Aloysius:It's the average of all players with a Truskill, it usually hovers around 24-25.

This is done so they can find a game. If they had a Truskill of 0, they would never find a match.

They could find a match with other no ranks, to ease them into a game.

Giving them a true skill of 24-25 doesn't help them, just hurts everyone around them.

Why not give them a true skill of 10-15?  It would make it so much easier for them to get ajusted to the game.

Because the way the TruSkill system works, players with 0 games played have to come in with an Average rating, so that the system can best figure out what their TS is.

    Then that's not really Trueskill.

Where does this average come from anyway?

I think it would be best for no ranks to have their own skill set of 10-15, so they feel they're amoung their peers of the same skill.  Giving them a "skill" of 24-25 justs makes it harder for them to ease into the game.  As, when they get paired against Brigiders and colonels, they( I would assume) scared and vastly outmatch, which is my a lot of resigns occur.

Also, I can't assume what someone's trueskill is before or during a match, and without the use of mics, just makes it impossible to assist them.  I had this one recruit just build warthogs and say he was going for ODSTs only, because it was his super unit.  I knew he didn't have a true skill of 34 as he said he was pretty new to the game.

I find this trueskill system is flawed, not because of rank, because of their "trueskill" and how there vary to far from each other.

As Aloysius sad it is all with TS. Besides the game can never be perfect. So just deal with it. Besides I get paired up with high ranks even though I am a high rank myself and I still win. Just because they have high ranks doesn't mean they are going to win. So how about learning some strategy and stop being scared s***less every game just because your opponent has a high rank. I have also beaten many brigadiers.

One last thing, if you are tired of having teammates with low ranks then just play 1v1. If all your going to do is complain about how the matchmaking system is bad then play 1v1. That should help your issue with having low rank teammates. But in the end you are just going to have to get over the fear of facing a high rank.

So, your reason for why this happens is because "no game can be perfect"?  If you're going to be an idiot, atleast give valid reasons why these things happen.  What does the first paragraph have anything to do with what I said?  I have plenty of strategies and tricks on how to win.  Just because they have high ranks doesn't mean they'll win, I know this.  What I don't know is whether the recruit/no rank has played many games and actually knows what they are doing.  I really don't care if you've beaten brigidiers, I have too.  What I care about is why I get paired with low ranks whether they're on my team or not.

What?  I stopped playing 1v1 as winning every game rushing got boring for me.  I like large scale battles, and having be beating because the enemy used smarter tactics than I and my allies.  It's not the high ranks or the low ranks I care about, it's about the "Trueskill" searching and matching.

Well it certainly is true Felix. No game is perfect. And i look forward to you contributing your strategies on how to win and we can all test them out to see if they actually work.
I stand proud and dominant in the heat of a battle.
