What about having a line of upgraded units standing in front of long-ranged units? This way, the enemy base could be destroyed at will while the opposing player can't take the formation out with anything less than a siege force like the Siege Tank- Marine-Medic combo in Starcraft. I know it's a *** way to win but I already brought the point up a few months ago

wouldnt the enemy just wipe you out with air support like banshees and vampires.

Line of upgraded units? That can fire back at air units? I'd say, no. And if they tried, it'd require them to divert attention away from the rest of the battle allowing me to fling units towards bases and not have to worry about microing them
