Sorry, no relation (genetically)
If their wasn't a a genetical relationship (no matter how slight) how would they know how to use forerunner equipment, and how can they use some equipment while the covenant couldn't?
Also the main reason spartans were about to control most covenant vehicles because the covenant tech is reversed from forerunner tech. In an essence they "Remembered" how to work that wraith in Fall Of reach.
No, im sorry there is no relationship genetically. The forerunners made all of their technology where humans or forerunners could use it, its just the way it was made. And the Spartans were taught how to use most covenant technology, any descrepency in the books is implying that John 117 has some areas of his past we dont know of yet. He couldnt have remembered how to use it, as memories arent passed on to our off spring. It would be like saying a college proffessor has a son and his son automatically knows what his father knew.
1. there is just as much proof saying there IS a relationship as there is saying there isn't. Stalemate.
2.Spartans weren't Taught how to use covenant Tech, they Learned in the isn't of battle. Re-Read the books and tell me which book and what page the spartans are being taught covenant weapons.
3. It's called Genetic Memory, and yes humans do have a limited Genetic memory. This is where the Genetic relationships falls in, Halo:The Flood Master chief just "knew" how to use the Light bridge and stated that he had a feeling of how to work it.
Same with the spartans on reach, when they where assaulting covenant forces on the ground, they just "Knew" how to use the Covenant wraiths (Which are made from forerunner-covenant tech)
