Seriously,

it is a video game, you buy video games for fun and gameplay, Not for storyline. If I want a good story I watch a movie or read a book, not play a video game.

I play games to have fun, and in order to have fun gameplay must be good weather it compromises canon or not! it's like complaining about a book lacking replayability!

And if it is too much of a big deal then ES can just change the storyline to fit. So stop complaining about crap that doesn't even matter!

Quite the contrary, I buy Video games games for the same reason I purchase novels, the story. 

The only games I buy for "gameplay" as you put it, are games that are exceptionally realistic or funny.

I actually do complain if books are not re-readable.

And I doubt they would as they have already violated many aspects of Halo. I cannot help but wondering if this game will be excluded from canon. 

Well really, games were origanally designed for gameplay and fun, storyline was only brought in latter in games. Game are made for fun.

And think about it, a game that has awesome gameplay but no storyline would sell a crapload more copies than a ame with bad gameplay and a good storyline.

 

i concur and companies only do what will make them more money, therefore casual gamers almost always get what they want cause they most often mainstream players.
