Very true. Also you forgot to mention that armored shields are very unwieldy and not advised for CQC. They are more of riot gear then anything else.

They are heavy and will slow down any infiltration attempt to the point of failure. It is kept by the exit for withdrawls.

Thermal goggles. ive explained this already, the ODST suit has cooling systems to mask the user from thermal scans and goggles

thus that plan is useless. Plus, ODST's could do the same thing with their more powerful, and lighter, S2 AM sniper rifle.

True ODST's standard equipement it ment to provide thermal scan protection.

oh, and for that above scenario. ODST's have motion trackers, they would know when the swat guys try to storm the place, and where they are at pretty much all times since they have thermal goggles that work.

Wrong ODST's do not have motion trackers. However they do have very very good audio receptors built in. And the thermal goggles are more of a mission spesific thing then standard equipment. The only thing standard is a low light mode that gives an IFF glow on objects in the HUD.

and that story makes it look like those ODST's had never seen action before. they would know not to stand next to windows with snipers all over the place.
