Firstly, to "Master_Sergeant_Lucky".

In Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, all the countries that made up the old Commonwealth, a Warrant Officer is a senior NCM.

WO is the next rank above Sergeant, then there's Master Warrant Officer, and then Chief Warrant Officer.

Then there's the Command Staff Chief Warrant Officer, the top NCM in the Canadian Forces.

Then there are appointments, like Company Sergeant Major, Regimental Sergeant Major, etc.

The only requirements to become a WO is to already be a Sergeant, be due for promotion, and have passed the necessary leadership courses.

I have NEVER heard of a "Regimental Corporal Major".

I was a Corporal, so I know of what I speak.

I served in a "Royal Regiment", here in Canada, and have done NATO, and UN, duty with Brits, as well as Kiwis and Aussies, and I've had WO's get truly ticked off at me because I didn't address them as "Warrant Officer".

In "Royal Regiments", eg. the Guards Regiments, WO's are referred to as Colour Sergeants, MWO's are called Sergeant Majors or  have an appointment title, like Company Sergeant Major, and CWO's are also called Sergeant Majors, but they almost always have an appointment title like Battalion Sergeant Major, Regimental Sergeant Major, or Brigade Sergeant Major.

Many other regiments also call WO's, MWO's, and CWO's Sergeant Major, but that is primarily due to the position that person has been assigned to, like Company Sergeant Major, etc.

Some are referred to as "Staff" Sergeant Majors, but that is NOT their rank, but rather their job description, similar to an appointment title.
