Offensive Bias:

I want to know why that one Sparrowhawk seems to be firing a laser of some kind.

It looks alot like a gauss cannon.  It's very similar to the one mounted on the warthog in recent screenshots. 

I'm assuming it to be an airborne artillery platform or an anti-vehicular gunship.  Or possibly a leader power.
