What the heck is a "Shadow"?

A Shadow is the covenant's groud based transport unit. it can hold up to 8 passangers aswell as a driver and a gunner. It can also hold a ghost instead of troops. You see a group of them near the end of Outskirts when your driving through the tunnel in the warthog.
