well the space elevator is still up there.... so this is around halo 2's tine... and the city looks quite a bit like new mombasa (its also the only place covenant landed)

 

 

so my guess is that the ODST's were being sent in via drop pods when the assault carrier jumped away and the in amber clad followed it... as the shock wave looks like the shock wave sent out when the assault carrier jumped in atmosphere.

 

 so my guess... is a game that is during the same timetable of Halo 2... set on earth fighting as the brutes take over the covenant and get deployed on earth...

 

 

 

 

EDIT: freeze frame at around 45 seconds... theres a banner that says new mombasa.... so we have a location and timeframe because the elevator is still up

 

since it is directly following a part between halo 2 and halo 3 then technically this would be the 3rd game in the timeline... but not the development line.

 

when the MC jumps theres still several spartans on earth.... they dont stick around long... but maybe they will make an appearence in game

 

 

 

Second EDIT:

 

you can see the Covenant Assault carrier flying in the background for about 3 seconds heading to where the shock wave originates.... so I think thats pretty difinitive proof that the shock wave is it jumping

 

 

 

NICE find. alsoatt 00:13 on the screen to the upper left it says evacuate the city of new mombasa. and around 0:36 it says "danger flood zone" might mean the flood is in this game.
