    Re: In Canon or not...

Why are we concerned about a triple back flip?  Is that like a secondary action? Quick! use the back flip and they will surrender!

In all seriousness, I'm just worried about the details.   I'm willing to accept any units they invent, simply because despite the huge variety of vehicles and things in the halo games, they still aren't nearly enough to fill up an RTS.

Th cyclops has basis in Fall of Reach, so i'm not going to worry (besides, reminds me of Zone Troopers from C&C).  Other than those covenant ships, the only other unit that truly bothers me is the Wolverine, because its a Half track.  You don't see to many half-tracks around these days, and here is a reason for this.  All wheeled vehicles (or all tracked depending on the direction we're going) are superior.  For an AA platform, i'd expect to see something more like a modern day Stryker.

Then again, my nostalgia for C&C brings me back to those old soviet Flak-traks. If i can fit 5 people in a wolverine and do an engineer rush it will be awesome (i know, there are no engineers....)

The biggest thing that worries me is the inclusion of structures that look forerunner. This we know is not canon.  Sure, we may have found a few bits of it here or there (like that crystal on Sigma Octanus in the book Fall of Reach), but Halo is more or less the first recorded piece of forerunner stuff we have found.   Yet in many of Halo War's concept art and maps, we see things that look clearly forerunner.

These may be multiplayer maps, and if so, thats fine.   However, if the campaign starts focusing on the forerunner in any great way, then i'll be irritated.
