    Hawki:

Lets see...well, I have read some media, namely the five novels, the Halo Graphic Novel, the Art of Halo, the Beastiarium, Conversations from the Universe and the first two issues of Uprising. Is that enough for you?

Considering the angle at which the ships are, of course we're not going to see torpedo launchers and those ships may not even have them. Do we even know what class of ship they are?

Well, reread the parts on the ships.  its hard to find a good match.  Also, we get a good look at the ships from the side, top, and bottom.  I've got a nice big HD tv and that trailer on my xbox, so i was taking a good look at those ships.

The plasma torpedo launchers are pretty straighforeard atleast on the crusiers.  You can see them, they look kinda curvy.  As far as halo war's ships, i'm gonna go out on a limb and say they might be "light cruisers" because they were described as having a manta ray appearance, and thats about as close as you're going to get from anything ever mentioned in a piece of halo cannon to something like Halo War's ship.

Of course, that only accounts for the foward section.  To be truthful, its only that rear boxy section that really makes me think they aren't trying hard enough. If they'd streamline that and cut out the wings, i'd be satisfied.  All i'm saying is that these things don't exactly fit the covenant's style through out all of the games and its books.

Oh, I see...you consider some things outside the game canon, yet others not, despite the fact that the HGN was screened by Bungie in the same way as other media. Yes, there are errors such as the Elites' mandibles, but these are hardly lore-breaking. If one saw simple errors as the basis for rendering something null and void in terms of lore, one may as well discard The Fall of Reach as Neyland had the last events as taking place in 2542 as opposed to the correct date of 2552. A simple error.

As far as the Halo Graphic Novel goes, i consider all the stories canon, but not the art.  This is simply becaue the artists has his or her particular style, and they will illustrate it how they want.  thats totally acceptable to me.  Its just like how when people make a movie about something that they often change bits up.  Its creative license.  The only thing now is when they use their license so far as to make major visual changes, then i don't think i can accept it as true to the series.   Besides, bungie isn't going to spend time crawling up their butt for prototypical accuracy.  Its just a graphic novel.

Spelling errors like that don't bother me either.   I think though, that for me, the covenant ships they use just don't capture that covenant look.  It doesnt' feel halo at all.
