The same goes with food, plants and animals etc.

They would need to make breakthroughs in hydroponic (farming: milk, grain, fruit, meat, clothes etc) technology to feed the quickly growing population.

The thing is, once you build a factory it's built, it doesn't perish into the stomach of someone and need to be replenished everyday into the stamochs of another couple billion humans.

Hydroponics doesn't affect a plant's time of growth, just how large it grows...

Why not just make fields on one of the 800 planets the UNSC instead of trying to feed the plants nutrient enriched soil =P

What was your point about the factory? That it never runs out?

Hydroponics 'does' affect how fast a plant will grow...I'm doing vet agriculture as a subject.

Hydrponics produces a consistant source of food...so if there is bad weather it doesn't make a difference.

 

evrey community is based off of argiculture and industry. you cant have a community based on just one anymore. its a combination of both.
