You can't just flat out Master Chief from the story line.  You have no idea how many pissed off gamers that will forever hate Bungie for it.  There will definitely be more games with the Halo title and the Master Chief.  The only question remaining is characters for the next installment.  Dr. Halsey and Kelly?  The other Spartans? The remaining Elites? Only time will tell.
