    What about the Covie Base?

    Everyone is so interested in the human base that no one has thought about how the Covenant base will be.   And since it will probably be playable I'm really interested to know how their base will be in relation to the humans, and what advanced tech there will be?

    Welcome to the HaloWars Forums!

    Well, from what is mentioned in the novels, it will probably go something like this:


    Methane Pit (Town center) - Allows you to create the workforce and main infantry unit. (Which will most likely be Grunts).

    Elite Tents- Allows you to create Elite units. Also, after building this, it may allow you to research special units (Hunters/Jackals?). And after you have completed research, you may have the option for a power, that when used, has a dropship deploy a unit of Hunters or Jackals (Possibly even Scarabs) to your base. This power would need time to "recharge" before it can be used again.

    Support Base- Either armored vehicles will be transported to your base, or they will be built using this base (Wraiths, Ghosts, Banshees).

    Defense- Plasma towers.

    Outpost- Jackal Sniper towers.

    This is just all my speculation. Most of these buildings (All except the Support base, which I made up) were seen in the Covenant encampment in First Strike.

    Actually, I think they would have a Com center for a root building, and Methane bunkers would just let you build Grunts.

    Then you should be pretty happy with the game; it's a lot of fun.
    Even if a squad of marines out of dozens of units on a battle field has shoulder pads .25" too thick for a fanboy's tastes :)

    Its going to be wierd building air artilliry with them. Its a really good idea though, all im going to do with covies is make thousands of grunts with fuel rod cannons and destroy them all!!! MUHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

     

    Also good idea with the comm center thing.

    Build as many Grunts with Fuel Rod Cannons as you like. I'll just kill them off with Lotus Anti-tank mines, or High Altitude Bombers.

    If i play as covenant im going for a drone army just to annoy some spartans who dont want to waste their ammo

    Well, Spartan189, you've missed a lot. You might not remember me, seeingas I had about 300 posts back then, but your sig does look familiar, NewGuy's, right?

    Anyways, about most of the cool guys from when you joined are gone, and some new ones came, but a couple of them got banned.

    So far, the only map that we know of is Harvest, from the screen-shot on the homepage. ES is still keeping their lipsed closed, but the Community Manager has said he'll be releasing a big update at the end of the month, so if I were you, I'd stick around till then.

     

    As for the topic of the thread. I'm pretty sure that this has been discussed before

    somewhere...

    And doing things like that really wouldn't make the game fun its called an "RTS" Real Time Strategy not a destroy everyone and thing with one type of unit. People like you would make the game boring and not very fun.

    Yeah I seem to remember talking about this the very second that NT posted the montage.

    It was 4 AM and we were just returning from a piss-pants night of Halo 3 amd the live action short.  Then we leaked a second time when NT started freaking out, we investigated, and BOOM!  There it was.

    this is covie base

    1.methane ten:build grunts

    2. anti grav tower, has hunter or jackal sniper

     3.Spirit: builds jackals and elites

    4.Phantom: headquarters, builds Field Master and prophet(minor, no throne)

    5.Engineer armory, makes resources

    6.Gravity Lift: gives ground vehicles and hunters

    7.Banshee Pad: build banshees

    8.Checkpoint: has an uplink station that gives large line of sight, two stationary shields, and two elites(plasma rifle, no swords) 

    9.Shade Turret: Self Explanatory
