Warthogs seem to be back, for the meantime...

I recently have been running into a lot of Anders characters lately because the hog rush all but went under.  Now its back though.  You could say it never really went away it just wasn't widely used after the patch they put out nerfing hogs.  If you encounter any Anders characters expect either a quick hog rush and in 1v1 it is usually even more fantastic because often most 1v1 maps have bonus reactors/bonus supply pads.  If you seem to be having trouble getting around those nasty hog rushes, turtle up.  Try getting a field armory up first to upgrade your turrets.  If you at least have large turret by the end you will all but rape most the hogs.  Secondly do NOT play to counter the hog.  You will need to scout them out, but they will go air most the time next.  The quickness/damaged of a quick hog attack will set you back.  Even more when they bring such a large group, rookie players make mistakes of expecting another wave of hogs from the same player.  If you're not scouting they are going to change their unit production.  Scout.  Scout always.  Anders is like a plague.  She can be spread quick and fast but she can be contained.

    3 Spartans+3 tanks=Owning 3 prophets nine times. Priceless

using hogs is part of the micro skill, they are amazing but are very fragile.

Good players have always used warthogs obsessively, what are you talking about?

Good players use everything obsessively, not just some lame a55 warthogs. I can use one warthog better than most people use 10.

just because you have gunner dosnt make you better then any of the other little piggies out there...but seriously they can be ferocious but its funny to see a guy try to rush you with em when you have turrets they just fail (not gauss...dont need anyone to disagree with me here)

Ya, but if you build a Turret, you have completed the Hogs job. You are now 250 resources behind your opponent and he/she needn't attack. He'll just gain map control more easily because of this.

if they dont attack with the hogs and just gain map control they will just be using up needed pop for the hogs that most likely wont be fully upgraded unless ur fighting Anders

Lol pop cap is NOT a factor in games with decent players, ESPECIALLY in 1v1. Also, without map control, you will be out-produced and out-teched. If you intend to build Turrets to defend against Hogs, well then it only takes 4 Gunner Hogs to force you to do so.

I don't really understand what you're trying to say here. However, Gunner Hogs are not wasted pop cap. They can get you Hooks, clear bases, collect crates and harass. They are also potential Gauss Hogs :)

Yes but if you go ahead and use 350 to put a anti-vehicle on that bit(h and kill all those warthogs then the warthogtier is down like 600, 700 resources.  Before I get a new argument all these situations are hypothetical and vary every game, so there is no way to truly tell what this group of warthogs could do against a clever base operator.  However, I will admit that warthogs on occasion are very useful, but that does not mean they are the base unit for every game nor should there be one, for either side.
