    Clear Unit Failures

    While this is not new news, I'd welcome some advice on how to overcome the fact that covie hard counters (minus vamps which actually work) do not do what they are supposed to, case in point.

     Im by no means a good prophet but felt like switching it up a bit, and I was only playing a halfway decent cutter, I shudder to think what this wouldve looked like if he was running anders. 

     But the moral of the story is that spamming hogs and turtling seems to beat the prophet everytime, sheild and turrets kept him off my base but I had nothing that could match the speed of his hogs, and not a single unit I could make would have countered him. Wraiths maybe but theyre spartan food, and frustrating to use if your opponent has decent micro.

    Spam flamers + Spam Hogs seems to > Anything Prophet

    the prophets beam own flamers so hard its not funny. so that takes care of flamers. make sure to upgrade it.  

    as for hogs hunters work and throw in some jackals to help the prophet. 

     

    against unsc make a mix of jackals and hunters and adapt from there. 

     

    its a good thing i dont play unsc in 1v1 so you cant beat me with my own advice like last time.

    Hunters are pretty useless at the moment, but with the prohet he is extremely good at annoying UNSC players, as when he has divine he is the only leader that can escape easily, so just use him to damage their base and then retreat, slowing him down while you get mass banshees, as they can actually kill the hogs en mass and flamers wont be a problem. Thats an easy way for you to approach it, but it is unfortunatly easily countered, but with this guy it would have worked.

    Thats pretty good, but that would unfortunatly get stomped on by tanks, especially spartanks.

    Hunters would own the hogs, assault beam may miss but fully upgraded hunters with numbers can smash even grizzly so i don't know why you wouldn't try them, and as for the flamers, mix fully upgrade jacks in there combined with the PoR's beam, you could smash that, if you don't try that them two scarabs, try to avoid the 4 mac other wise you have one scarab and a PoR left to take out hogs first as flames wont' do much to a scarab plus you can then get engineers healing it. 

     

    Other move would be to spam banshees, flamers can't touch them and fully upgraded they own hogs plus you can use boost to avoid the mac blasts with ease. And you could also use them for cheap base kills if your hardly holding on.

    I had regret's sentence but never made it to T2, beam worked but couldnt really keep up with the spam, hunters wrecked the hogs, but they would just drive away and knock out turrets, attack my base, ram any hunters there, force a recall, drive away again, resume spam, just annoying as all hell

    It was a stalemate that I got so fed up with I just resigned, which might not be a bad strat on his part

    k man if a guy rushes u wid wart hogs dnt bother goin hunters cos they *** ani vechicle just go straight banshees n get upgrades 4 them asap they tear up wart hogs if u got reapting cannons plus flamers cnt ataak banshees, they fast u can out manuevere his warthogs (ur wraiths cnt do tht), n it takes UNSC 3rd tech to counter them.But watch out if u vs andres dnt forget about the cryo bomb. seriously dnt go hunters if he attks ur base n u attck him hell just run away n if u leave ur base he can run bak n attck it, ur hunters r too slow, u wnt be able to attck him n defend. just go straight wraiths or banshes. Hunters r still good but they crap anti vechicle if u got a decent number at the strt they pretty good 4 rushing they do heaps of damage 2 buildins n they alright anti infantry they even beat flamers.

    Noted, Banshee spam wouldve worked early, but I usually do that with my arby build, wasnt taking it too seriously and actually thought making a hard counter to his army would work....nope

    I would have thought every one would have seen 8 grizzlies waste 50 pop of hunters, I do it all the time. Hunters can't track the grizzlies and their superior range and speed means that they are very easy to kite the hunters with, so even with the upcomming update, good mirco can still own hunters.

    Stop blaming bad units for your own lack of skill.

    Hunters and Jackals work fine. Theres several Covy players in the top page, and they work around the "OMG WTF UP units"

    Everyone is so quick to point the finger at balance and not skill.
