Covenant hunters vs. UNSC vehicle depot

Regarding:  Covenant not being able to counter a unsc vehicle depot.

The cummunity had a poll recently about the top issues to be addressed in a future patch (if one is made to fix the cryo glitch).  The top 2 issues were:

    1) gremlins are OP vs UNSC

    2) hunters are UP vs UNSC

The basic problem isn't hunters.  They counter all covenant vehicles and UNSC vehicles, except for scorpion/Grizzly well enough.  The problem is that canister shell does too much damage at 2,000 to 3,900 a shot from each tank so that they can wipe out hunters before they have a chance to do sufficient damage.  Combine that with the explosive 1.4 multiplier against heavy infantry and the damage is upped to 2,800 to 5,460 against hunters that have a maximum HP of 4695 at assault beam so they are one-shot killed by grizzlies and almost killed by scorpions.

The solution is to change the OP of canister shell.  Either,

    a) nerf canister shell damage

    b) change the multiplier of explosive damage against heavy infantry from 1.4 to a lower number so hunters stand a chance against canister shell tank spam.  (obviously this is the preferred choice as it would only affect hunters, cyclops and flamethrowers).

Maybe make hunters block the shells more often, if it wouldn't make THEM op.

I think hunters should eirther get a sprint ability to keep up with microing tanks and hogs or get a block ability that makes them slower but like a cobra is stronger in this mode

    No.

    1) Don't make AB cumulative damage.  Make it do its current max damage right away--not build up to it.

    2) Don't make AB break on the slightest flinch of a unit.  Seriously, allow the hunters to turn with a unit and fire at it until it goes out of physical range.  In fact, allow it to move and shoot with AB.  Or even better, stationary AB (2x damage) and when moving it does Spirit Bond-esque damage with the single shots.

They might be fine if they could move and shoot.

Re: Covenant hunters vs. UNSC vehicle depot

I use the PoR usually, and when i use hunters against UNSC tanks, they don't do much, and the success rate is low, IMO.  The CS is OP, even for regular Scorpions.  Now when I see a VD on a UNSC base, I just make banshees until they start to make Wolverines, then come out the hunters.

I think the hunters shouldn't be given more speed, because a tank should move faster..  but more armor/HP.

And the assault beam could use an accuracy boost on moving targets until they are out of range.  Maybe give them a "Y" ability that makes them stronger for a short period of time against attacks like the CS.  In this ability, the two brothers could huddle together and use their sheilds as one or somethin, i dunno, but they can shoot back in this formation...  Dunno how much programming that would take, but they should be way stronger than they are against tanks, because they are the MAIN anti-vehicle unit.. and so bring them up, or bring Canister Shell down.. SOMETHIN.

( and off topic, give the Jackals a "Y" ability to increase their range for a limited amount of time to snipe FT units.. lol )

um no on the jackels thing not sure about the hunter thing but jackels and flamers are equal right now if you make that happen then the UNSC are screwed vs hunter+jackels combo unless they ahve air

Re: Covenant hunters vs. UNSC vehicle depot

Jackals and Flamers are amazing well balanced.  Jackals win at long range and spread out and flamers win up close or clustered with flashbang.  That is one matchup that was well done by Robot/Ensemble.
