    Beating PoR early game as arby

    First of all I'm not FJ so I won't whine incoherently abouthow disadvantaged arby is in 1v1 but I have taken a liking to perfecting a playstyle with him, but as of lately I've hit a wall with PoR players at my skill level TS-39.

     No matter what an EHG rush seems to bend me over a barell, and I don't know if there is anything I havent tried yet, quick sheild wrecks eco meaning T>SG, which is the only way to get it up before PoR is at my base, diagonal plasma turrets will keep him off my base but I gave him a massive early game advantage, I don't use rage until I have to but once I get passed the initial EHG rush I can outplay a PoR going mono arby

    Any advice from some arby pros would be greatly appreciated

    idk if this would work.

    get ghost out quick. the ehg wont be able to kill them and with good micro you can kill the prophet.

    well im no arby pro but i can give you a few ideas to try

    -try putting up a back turret early and upgrade it to plasma mortar and then just keep bringing in your arby to divert attention from it and go hall 4th or third sand build jackels and try that (havnt tried it myself)

    -just dont make a temple first and make hall and make lot of jackle sna go temple 4th (mainly a strat idea for small maps)

    -sucide grunt rush his temple so he cant make anymore EHG's and then it shoudl be as simple as raging left-over EHG's or putting a turret up

    -double base on maps like pirth and make jackels at the one not being attacked and use arby to get crates to fund this

    -ghosts....they coem out to fast for POR to handle or hit with beam beacuse of speed and they onw EHG's along with no being able to be hit.

    In theory that would work, never tried, but what BO, T>W>F? PoR will be there in time to beam factory, or F>W>W then T after you beat back rush?

    Clear a base and put a hall on it but make sure you get citadel on your main

    or go like hall 4th?

    hall 2nd and dont build your temple maybe?

    get a quick wraith with shield and just micro it if the shield drops just run away and get it back

    just throwing stuff out there

    THE PROPHET CAN JUST KEEP YOUR TEMPLE DOWN.

    I thought about wraiths but you cant get them up fast enough unless the POR is retarded and waits till he has like 10 EHG's before attacking.

    I thought about wraiths but you cant get them up fast enough unless the POR is retarded and waits till he has like 10 EHG's before attacking.

    the beam also owns wraiths

    Tom what are you talking about, the POR wont be able to keep temple down becasue of jackels hence the point

    double basing gives you a better economy than normal -_-

    and POR's dont normally think you would do this and at some point they will go away from the front of the base then you can just do it then you can just say no matter what against a POR player it wont work.

    Why did you have to mention FJ in this? There was no point except for pointlesly taking a dig at him. But I do agree with him, Arbiter is at a massive disadvantage. I dont want to turn this thread into a thread about another member, but I can sympathise wih FJ and I don't think he diserved that pointsless dig. He contributed alot to the forum, and then "derailed" towards the point when he left. But I blame that on the stress from moving countries and esspecially the stress from the particular country he lives in. He did alot of stuff, and people only remember a couple whiney threads. But hey, everyone has had whiney moments.

    Anyway, if you can get a Shield up and a couple turrets, then your ok. Get a Turret up early, and use some Grunts to take out the Temple. What I do is get a front turret up, if I can get another corner one, and upgrae them both the PoR cant do anyting to that base as his money is spent on EHG. Otherwise, I try and draw teh PoR back by sending in grunts to take down that temple.

    Its very hard, but do able.

    how many jackals will you have 3-4. he beams the temple for like 1 second then beams your jackals game over.

    by double basing you dont get your temle for a while. thus you can only make t0 units which are jackals grunts and ghosts. jackals get owned by prophets beam and grunts get owned by ehg which leavs ghost which possibly could repeal the attack but they might take to long. also the prophet will see you double base and cant take out that base in no time. also if it did work it only works on pirth. he still would need a solution for the rest of the maps

     

    stud i dont agree with your ideas becuase most of the time they are flawwed.

    The PoR can keep that Temple down. A handfull of unupgraded Jackals will not stop a Prophet.

    Double basing does give a better eco, but it takes a while to get to that. You couldn't defend the second base long enough to take advantage of the better eco.

    Its true Prophets won expect this, but no good Prophet will allow you to keep your second base. As soon as you buy a new base, it lights up on the map, they will know its there 5 seconds into the game, and set up a build order and strategy to take it down.

    It's not argument, its discussion. I've noticed you don't seem to know the difference as your to stuborn in your opinions.

    if you want to kill the prophet just make sure his shields don't go up with your ghost and rage him to death. simple and easy.

    raging a POR to death isnt easy and it requires ALOT of resources. plus with EHG's it wont work at all.

    I can stop EHG rushes fairly easy just because they don't expect it and spend all there resources into EHG and not Blessed. Even with Blessed they still lose tho so its a GG. Add xTEGx Shurikan and i'll show you what i do to stop it. Even tho people have the basic idea of how to stop it but some others make it a LOT harder then it actually is. It's just another strat that is easy to stop if your smart about it.
