    Building Damage according to Excel List

    Got bored and started calculating unit DPS vs. Buildings per Pop, assuming that all abilities have 15 second cooldowns.

    ODST: 167 DPS
    Gauss Hog: 200 DPS
    Cyclops(Basic): 167 DPS
    Cyclops(Torque): 230 DPS
    Wolverine: 115 DPS
    Cobra(Locked): 246 DPS
    Scorpion(Basic): 155 DPS
    Grizzly: 213 DPS
    Vulture(Mega): 305 DPS

    Locust(Amplifier): 295 DPS, 413 DPS with Overdrive
    Suicide Grunts: 1750 Damage for the whole squad, 2734 if fully upgraded

    1. Took DPS as listed by Aloysius' Excel File, including multiple Damage types when relevant.  Damage abilities were divided by 15 first.

    2. Applied indicated tech modifiers where applicable.

    3. Applied damage multiplier vs. buildings

    4. Divided by Population

    Then generated results.

    So that you can actually compare Building DPS effectively.  Sure, a Scorpion deals more damage than a Gauss Hog to buildings, but it also uses up 3 times as much population.

    did you apply the right multipliers? because the gauss damage is way too high

    Cyclops is indicated to deal 117 Basic DPS, 146.25 Basic DPS when Wielding Debris, and 750 Basic DPS (Against Buildings).  My presumption was that (Against Buildings) was referring to the Basic attack, not the debris throw.  If you are correct, then Cyclops deals 167 DPS vs. Buildings which is way too low.  It is a fact that it can at least MATCH a Gauss Hog.

    Locust deals 283.5 base damage, which goes up to 396.9 when adding Overdrive.  You then multiply by 1.25^2 for the upgrades boost, then multiply 2 for damage/armor type (Beam vs. Buildings), before dividing by 2.

    Gauss Hog main weapon deals 120 base DPS, times 1.25^3 for upgrades, times 0.6 for damage/armor type.  You then add in the grenade attack, which is 30 base DPS, times 1.25 for upgrade, times 1.6 for damage/armor type.

    Ah.  That makes the Locust much more realistic DPS wise.  Also the Cyclops, when applying both damage upgrades and including the vs. Building as ability only, deals more reasonable DPS.

    Also, I seem to have miscalculated Gauss Hogs, they should be around (120*1.25^3*0.6+30*1.25*1.6)=200 DPS.  Even so, they get way too good DPS vs. Buildings for something that is so effective against everything else.

    With the revised figures, Suicide Grunts was probably giving the figure for the whole squad, not an individual member.

    i thought as much about the gauss, they are good but not that good. lol i knew the locusts were wrong! nothing has that much dps per pop.

    the stats also show why scarabs suck, i mean it does like 200 dps per pop against everything, very low compared to other fully tech units

    What your forgetting is, Hogs need high building damage. To stop early Covenent Leaders, you need hogs to attack their base and draw them back. If hogs did tiny building damage, then a PoR rush would be OP.
