this is a two part question

1. What RTS games, if any, are better than Halo Wars

and 2. What console RTS games, if any, are better than Halo Wars

If you really think halowars is the best, you have yet to play battle for middle earth 2. Awsome game, much better.

I would say that almost every RTS on the computer is better.  I'm not saying Halo Wars is bad, because I like it a lot, it's just RTS games are a lot more fun on the PC.  Much better micro and usually more detailed.  I wish Halo Wars was on the PC...

This is the best console RTS I've played though.  Beats the crap out of C&C and BFME2.  Haven't played Endwar though.

There was a very realistic, very good RTS game quite some time ago. It was based on the Farcry series. That game was the most epic game of the century, and probably the best game of ALL time. Nothing can suppas its awsomeness and its epice. Sadly, it never came out, and i only played its demo :( Beta testers get all the friggin fun =P

I think Halo Wars is the best on console, although I must say that I havn't played middle earth 2, I'll download it's demo or something, but I doubt it would be better.

As for PC, I think Halo Wars is on the same level as C&C3 (havn't played Red Alert) but that's because I don't like micro a whole lot, when you have to worry about micro too much it turns into more of a reflex game and I want to play a thinking game.  My kind of game is one like Rise of Nations.  But yah, there are some better games on the PC.

The only RTS's I've really played are Starcraft and Halo Wars.  Call me crazy, but I think this game is better than starcraft.  I have more fun playing it.  I like having strict base locations and I like not having to tend to 50+ resource miners.  I like how different the unsc is compared to the covie, yet is still very balanced.  And although I'd rather play this with a mouse/keyboard, Robot did a fanf*ckingtastic job on the controls.  I don't even know how to improve this game, other than maybe adding more factions or leaders.

And on a side note, I think the only balance changes needed are bumping each gremlin upgrade up a tech level.
