    why is this even useful????......are people going to sit down and do mathematical equations to figure out how many units kill x unit in x amount of time?....i dont think so....all u need to know is that AIR counters VEHICLES, VEHICLES counter INFANTRY, and INFANTRY(in numbers) kills AIR.....that is it.....the only exception to this rule is ghosts killing air...thats it....if u cant figure that out...then u should just stop playing

    there seems to be alot of things that could be wrong but im not sure

    grunts become way weeker with needler is one,

    grunts doint 17.6 dps is another

    warthog and gremlin health

    jackal damage type

    chopper ram damage is not there

    also flame thrower health is given in per flamer or per squad because its very low if its per squad, jackals seems to be per squad and i can't tell about hunters

    brute squad building damge is 0.8(102) and elie honor gaurds 1.2(180) i know that brutes do quite a bit more against buildings, even if theres is 2 brutes it looks like its less than ingame, its still less than ehgs

    Sacrifice banshees do almost as much damage as suicide grunts when they die :)

    Also i think the attack type that building killers use is missing.

    for locusts its beam and for cyclops there isn't one. they just do high damage to buildings when they throw things

    Just checked the unit stats and cyclops building damage is listed but locusts aren't. Oh well.

    Answers from data table:

    Locusts do "beam" type damage.

    Ghosts and choppers do "warthog ram" type damage when they ram.

    Cover adjusts the armor modifier to 0.2 for most damage types for infantry in cover.

    Thank you for taking the time to make this data table up.  It is very informative.

     Question:  What is the actual damage per second for needler grunts as they do lower damage per needle (8.8) but have a "higher rate of fire" than plasma pistol (17.8 DPS).  Specifically, I am trying to determine what is the best covenant soft counter to air units.

    I was surprised that ghosts do significantly more damage (144 small arms DPS + they get 1.25 + 1.25 modifiers) to air than choppers (120 small arms DPS + 1.25 + 1.15 modifiers) for a unit that is 1/2 cost!

     

    Request:  Please add covenant leader data if possible. It would be very interesting to see hard data on POR, Arbiter and Brute Chief as they are the centerpiece of covenant factions.

    Arbiter 1337:I noticed Fuel rod does a nice bit of damage against air units, but no units can use Fuel Rod against air units, why is this?

    Prophet of Regret Blessed Immolation upgrade adds fuel rods, which will hit air units.

    Anyone who ever used the stupid things could have told you that.  Not only does the damage suck against air units, they won't even HIT them most of the time.  This means they're the only scout unit that won't counter air units.  Add that to the fact that grunts also don't counter air and suck horribly, that would mean that the covenant doesn't have an effective early to mid game counter to air.

    The Chopper is somewhat of a downgraded version of a Wraith tank, but without the shields.  They're really only good against infantry, as they're the slowest units in the game(which means the autocannon might actually hit them, or at least miss a lot less).  Using them against tanks is pointless, as Ramming a vehicle or building will inflict considerable self-damage, even with the Ramming Targe upgrade.  And using them to counter hogs is equally as stupid, as they can't move and shoot at the same time, so the Choppers can easily be kited by the hogs.

    Since the pathfinding is so retarded, it isn't practical to use more than 5 at a time unless you're ramming a Scarab(which is probably the ONE thing they might be good at).  Building damage is only average, and they're completely useless against a shielded base.

    Honestly, I'm not even sure why these units exist.

    Couple things:

    The grunts damage is WRONG right now, for 2 reasons:
    1. Both the plasma pistol AND needler do 8.8 base DPS. I used the PlasmaPistolInCover DPS numbers accidentally. So in reality PP is 8.8, not 17.6.
    2. We discovered that there is a bug and Needler's are SmallArms when they should be AASmallArms. We are looking in to this. If they were AASmall arms, you guys might stop saying that they need a buff!

    So it is true, Grunts do not soft counter air the way they should. My world is falling apart.
